Morning

how do they 'get' racing on

Surely it's decided by the weather & not the racecourse?

lol
Report foxy November 30, 2016 10:22 AM GMT
some racecourses are better than others at getting racing on.
Report foxy November 30, 2016 10:24 AM GMT
can depend on how much they wont it on just look back at the day mccoy rode his 3,000th winner.
Report holywell November 30, 2016 11:20 AM GMT
Newcastle were prone to cancel a meeting or two when it suited them.
Report workrider November 30, 2016 11:48 AM GMT
Don't worry Thurles will be on , yet to be called off .The most dependable track in Ireland.
Report foxy November 30, 2016 5:18 PM GMT
That's reasureing workrider at least you and Holywell understood where I was coming from.
Report intheknow November 30, 2016 6:56 PM GMT
With racecourses reportedly getting 7k+ per race when racing is on, I'm not a member of the conspiracy club that suggests they pick & choose when to race in bad weather
Report foxy November 30, 2016 7:05 PM GMT
It's not a case of that some are better than others at getting racing on .
Report foxy November 30, 2016 7:10 PM GMT
Anyway hopefully workrider will be right minus 4 and plenty of fog around in the morning I wouldn't fancy the likes of Haydock and Ludlow getting racing on.
Report workrider November 30, 2016 7:57 PM GMT
Fog seems to be following Irish racing, Punch,Gowran ,possibly  Thurles unreal.
Report foxy December 1, 2016 8:50 AM GMT
No problems at present soil temperature plus 2 degrees.

That's some going description
Report ashleigh December 1, 2016 10:05 AM GMT
pictures on atr now, fog looks the biggest problem.
Report pa lapsy December 1, 2016 10:29 AM GMT
Two years ago they showed brilliant pictures from a hand held camera from a car there.
Forecast to linger in some places all day.
Looked on tv to be fairly dense so hope that made it look worse than it really is.
Report Can't Catch Me December 1, 2016 10:38 AM GMT
Ive been racing a couple of times at Thurles when it was completely unraceable! Dont think they worry about the ground much there.
Report Can't Catch Me December 1, 2016 10:39 AM GMT
They've done that a couple of times lately pa. Like at Gowran at the weekend. Preferred it to the normal view!
Report pa lapsy December 1, 2016 10:44 AM GMT
Can look a bit strange but the detail is brilliant rather than the "long view",i prefer it as well CCM.
Car is only a few yards off the course there as well which makes it probably the best one for that.
Report workrider December 1, 2016 11:55 AM GMT
I was there the first time they did it,think it was Ken Whelan who first had the idea and got a driver to take him round after them .
Report Can't Catch Me December 1, 2016 12:21 PM GMT
Another WPM runner fares badly. He's had several disappointments lately.
Report Bigwillystyle December 1, 2016 12:22 PM GMT
A load of Sh ite.  Might as well not be watching the race for all the use the camera on the car is.
Report wallis December 1, 2016 12:23 PM GMT
Did the fav bring down total recall ?
they both seemed to go at the last
Report workrider December 1, 2016 12:23 PM GMT
The car is going too fast ,needs to slow down.
Report Poppydog. December 1, 2016 12:24 PM GMT
Indeed, the car was fine until the last, then accelerated away
and only the lucky few saw the fallers.

Conspiracy IMO
Report Can't Catch Me December 1, 2016 12:25 PM GMT
They both looked very tired wallis. Think they fill independently.
Report Can't Catch Me December 1, 2016 12:26 PM GMT
Think the driver thought the leaders were travelling better than they actually were!
Report drewboy December 1, 2016 12:27 PM GMT
The car needs to be careful when it drives past the fly-tipping round the back!
Report wallis December 1, 2016 12:28 PM GMT
Thanks CCM.
Report Arklearkle December 1, 2016 12:30 PM GMT
November WM 20 winners from 46 runners. GE 31 winners from 144. Almost twice GE's strike-rate.
Report Poppydog. December 1, 2016 12:47 PM GMT
Possible 15 min delay (visibility)
Report foxy December 1, 2016 6:06 PM GMT
Fell independently winner would definitely had won .
Report workrider December 1, 2016 6:18 PM GMT
Hope you had a good day, bet you thought you were back in the 50s Laugh
Report foxy December 1, 2016 7:17 PM GMT
It was a fantastic experience and I mean that workkrider you are very lucky to be able to go racing over here and have fun,yes it was a throw back to how racing was in England in the 70s and 80s I wasn't around in the 50s,everybody there actually watches the races difficult in the first of course, but once the fog cleared it was a great view, thankfully no big screen to spoil things, great to see more people with binoculars than you would see in a 30,000 plus crowd at York, really looking forward to the next 3 days .
Report workrider December 2, 2016 6:00 PM GMT
Glad you enjoyed it .
