if its the same guy, used to stand at Warwick,Stratford and Cov dogs back in late 70s and 80s, always very pleasant and to my memory always had a smile on his face ( probably cos my old man was filling his hod ). I was just a nipper then but he made an impression. Condolences for your loss whether or not it was the man I recall.

Very sorry to hear that mate, your dad was one of the best old school bookies and a worthy adversary in the modern era. Condolences to you and your family.

By:
Thank you for the kind words. Dad was 71 and never spent a day in hospital in his life which is why it was such a shock. He came out with us to Newbury a couple of weeks ago. Yes, he was the bookie who used to stand at Warwick and Stratford and Coventry and Leicester dogs, and yes he always had a smile on his face. That was how he was all the time.

Happy days! |
