still works for Joe's on a Saturday on tv, his cockney banter is still there although maybe not as much as it used to be, but I just wish he would wear a shirt that fits, I'm sure he got the ones he wears from the late Billy Foulkes as they shrank in the wash first time.

His Monday column in the R/Post was the only funny thing in the entire publication. Obviously, like all RP tipsters he was a disaster area and a chancer but it didn't matter. I saw him at Brighton races a couple of years ago. I asked him what he thought would win but he just muttered something about being 'just a spectator'. When I worked on the Post years ago I asked someone about him. They replied: 'He's never had a real job. And he still owes me money.' Made me chuckle. Long live the Couch.

Bitter , Jealous? The bloke is just a fat useless guesser. Saw him one night holding court in The Queens, Cheltenham. Two minders who looked simple, himself with his scruffy trainers on and that fat know-all look on his ugly unwashed face. Ignorant lardarse. His claim to fame is??????

Two of his more repeatable pronouncements at a Cheltenham preview I was at in ireland....
When discussing the trainer of a strong fancy for one of the novice hurdles, he concluded that he should know what he was doing as "he'd had more juveniles through his hands than Jimmy Savile"
In reply to positive vibes from a fellow panelist recalling some serious form from way back about a beast The Couch clearly didnt fancy, he stated that one "would have to dig deeper than Fred West to unearth a formline that would give this one a chance"

It was a Noel Winstanley that was Garry Owen in the 80's
Alan Thompson was Garry Owen for a good while, then passed it on to his mate Ian Taylor.
I never knew GB was Garry Owen but it wouldn't surprise me.
