-£1950 on one race (dont know how much on the day...have done 4 figs at least 4 times)
relatively small player..got cocky laying..learnt a lesson find that i judge the losers more by how big a mistake (if at all) i feel i made rather than the amount lost Let's be careful out there today! |

I'm similar Duncan, iF I'm happy with the bet (usually lay) then I take the loss on the chin as you know these things are going to happen. If I make a mistake or lose my discipline I can get angry with myself and get tempted to make matters work by chasing! |

35k...last day of Cheltenham 2012.
John Quinn wins a triumph hurdle that was 10k done straight off the bat, complete skinner, probably got away lightly with just the 10. Was winning untold (close to 6 figs) on the 2nd in the 2nd but was given an ill judged ride and didn't get there - did another 6/7 total in that. Mullins banker gets beat to Lucinda Russell of all trainers in the 3nd (must have been some juice in the northern water on the way down to Prestbury thinking back) that was another 11 or 12 from memory. Steadied the ship a bit after that and kept the losses down to under 10 for the rest of the remaining 4 races combined knowing that I was on super tilt. Was quite proud of that at the time.  To be fair the first three days were superb for me and I definitely was playing to max stakes with hugely overblown confidence by the Friday but after that day I've not played the festival with that kind of aggression in the four years since. |

lost 2k on Argentina v England 2005 though it was'nt on Betfair, backed the Argies and the draw, all was going well until 87th minute with Argies 2-1 up, Michael Owen equalised to make it 2-2 and squeeky bum time, still I have the draw I thought at the time, then Owen went and bagged the winner in injury time......you live and learn, nothing is a cert.

From memory the 3-3 lay was a few days before and I thought the price was way too low. Not sure on the thinking behind the 1-0 lay. Then, in my infinite wisdom, decided to lay 2-0 and lose 50 large. Think I made the price about 11.5 to 12, but probably went in too heavy and was a bit cocky after winning well on a few matches in the preceding days. Hey ho. |

Tough to take from a respected poster such as yourself. I can vaguely remember the night you came on here smashed (quelle surprise), working yourself up into a frenzy about a double on the arras that you'd had for a few grand. Then crowing when a couple of heavily odds on shots kopped. Deeply embarrassing scenes. |
