If youre going on shear visual performance, Arazi cutting through the field whether thy went too quick or not was amazing to watch

Just to be different... after blowing my mind at nottingham then following him in on his G1 in France next start Dream Ahead.
Then his performance in the Middle park was just astounding.
Proved himself to be absolutely top drawer at 3 and a real shame things didnt happen for him in the dewhurst in his juvenile year against the mighty one but how many horses hearts did Frankel break...

Have not followed the horses in recent years, but would agree with a few of the earlier posts Arazi in Breeders Cup Juvenile 1991 will take some beating.
Arazi cant be beaten so i wouldnt allow that selection haha should be...'bar arazi what is the best...'
arazi could I also say that the night he won the breeders cup juvenile had the wow factor that I never seen before or since with any racehorse of any age over any distance xxx

My dad worked for Major Hern at the time i Gorytus beating the unbeaten Salieri on his debut in the Acomb by 7 or 8. lengths
Sorry for being immodest but it was myself in winning The Dewhurst in 1956 - I knew how good I was but my pesky front legs eventually let me down .....

Dont mention that race again, was an apprentice at the time and decided to put my full wages on Salieri, was so confident of victory. Never had a bean for a week
Agree with Arazi in breeders cup.
The other one was Celtic Swing way back in 1994.
Won the racing post trophy group 1 by 12 Lengths. The others where strung out like washing in behind.

Hard to go for anything other than Arazi. Just unreal. A shame he got an injury and didn't go on.

Circus Ring for me at Royal Ascot in 1981.
Couldn't tell you which race but I remember the commentator (O'Sullevan) saying she'll need to be good to win from there and did so by 7 or 8 lengths?
She was unbeaten as a 2yo but was injured at 3 and became a successful broodmare.

Think as many have pointed out above Arazi was a little bit special that evening.

Best two year old performance I've seen in the flesh was Fleetwood at Haydock in 1997. Race was over 7f he pulverised the field and Fallon couldn't pull him up till the back straight. Shame he never ran again through injury. A lost star for the maestro of Warren Place

Like so many posters if you saw Arazi that night it is a case of Arazi first everything else nowhere..if you didn't see it live you missed a phenomenon

Thanks Blackbarn. The Racing Post site doesn't record that race but Arazi quickly got his revenge giving Steinbeck 3lbs.
Visually, I would have the Arazi performance ahead of anything I have seen. It doesn't match up form wise to many of the greats but I can't think of another race where a horse has literally made it look like the others were running in slow motion.

Best 2yo debut I every saw was Gorytus in the Acomb Stakes.
Best 2-y-o performance I've seen and just one pick, has got to be CHIEF SINGER in the Coventry, 20-1, never ran in a maiden and went straight to Ascot for his debut in the Coventry - and his entire career was spent in Group company. Love this story about him:
"Shortly before the Coventry, Trainer Ron Sheather had matched the colt against a successful 6-y-o handicapper named Teamwork in a trial gallop, and decided to send the colt straight to Ascot after he easily defeated his older rival despite meeting him at two stones worse than weight-for-age. Before the Coventry Lester Piggott asked Cochrane how he expected to win on "that big black oaf". Cochrane responded "take a good look at his face, because all you're going to see at the end is his arse"

Arazi's Breeders Cup is the most overrated 2yo performance I've ever seen.

Yes,Arazi was brilliant,as were the others mentioned,but what Lady Aurelia did at Ascot was good enough to win the Kings Stand.Outstanding performance.

In my view, Mill Reef was more impressive than Arazi.

Of those seen Cantelo was unbeaten in her 2yo season. As a 3yo favourite for the Oaks but second to Petite Etoile and for one of my best days ever won the St Leger.

Claremont Point, a 2 year old Greyhound I owned that won for me at Slough (7/1) back in the late 70's 
Circus Ring, she was odds on for the Guineas in the autumn, that gives you some idea of how good she was best i've seen.
