Start with a mythical grand (you know how that works), and can have as many selections as you like per day/week/month but all put up with prices obtained/available with stake at the time of posting. A challenge over a year would never happen. I understand a longer time frame would sort the man from the boy, but that's far too long. Mart takes six bookie paid holidays a year, he'd never be able to study to his true potential while away so that would be a disadvantage to him.
