Today at goodwood. I'm with a party of 20. Young girl puts a fiver on Lockheed at 4/5. He pays her out £4.
She went back after we told her & collected the fiver.
I confronted him out it later, he was pretty aggressive. funny how it only happens when a young girl goes to collect...
Could be an honest mistake but I'm sure the ring will know.

Do they still have bets recorded, if so should be able to listen to him telling her she needed four not nine
Almost unbelievable that someone could stoop so low....perhaps he'd care to publish his side of the story

I've known Mick for over 30 years. Its a mistake, 100%. We are all human.
30 years ago I had a fiver on a winner at Stratford @ 11/4 & asked for #17-50 less... Bookie say's no you mean #37-50 less. I shrugged and took it. Always punted with him after that, if the price was the same. Think the bookie was W G Ash.
These days you can't go up and ask for a pony to 6 or a hundred to eight a 12/1 shot. More's the pity!
Backed a 4/6 shot at a point to point meeting two months ago , gave the bookie (lovell Cardiff) £40 and asked for £30 at 4/6 he gave me a tenner change and a ticket for £40 at 4/6

Surely this can't happen in this age of printed receipts?
You wouldn't have thought so. She's got a ticket saying £9 if it wins, it's the first thing most people look at once they've placed their bet.
