Here's a free little system that does consistently well. Using the RP website, access the RPR page for each Handicap, Group, Listed, and Conditions races. On the RPR page, concentrate on the the column headed "Last Yr". The selection is the horse that has the CLEAR BEST figure during the past 12 months, and is quoted at 5-1 or higher in the forecast. Back to win at Betfair SP. Yesterday Gordon Lord Byron and Mexican Border won from 10 qualifiers, showing a profit after commission of 18.9 points. Today Forever A Lady, Dark Crystal, and Fantasy King have already won from the first 5 of 12 qualifiers, ensuring at least 12.4 points profit. Still to come: Gworn, Studio Star, Morning With Ivan, Whozthecat, Burning Thread, Tears In My Eyes, and Crafty Codger.
I should have also mentioned that if the best figure is on a different surface (say Turf in an All-Weather race) or discipline (in a chase where the race is a hurdle), it does not qualify.

Whose opinion is the RPR? Is it as potentially guarded as the OR, which is the standard? Is the Irish RPR the UK OR or the Irish OR, which differ by about 7lb? Be very careful!

where do you get that from the rpost and do you take non runners into it ie what if it goes off at 10-11 or even drifts to 20-1

Pro Sniper, I would agree with you in general. The system I have given can be refined as per individual preference, but I find the RPR figures to be more reliable than most. I have another system which I would NEVER reveaal, and which is far more profitable!!!

Eborman, the short answer to your question is 'no'. The Racing Post have their own ratings (RPR) which I use for selection purposes. All relevant race data for the next day is available from 7pm, but requires subscribing to the Members' Club at £14.50 per month.

The system's NET LEVEL STAKE PROFIT (i.e after losers are deducted) is +36.1 points in the last 2 days. Of course it has regular losing days, but the proof of the pudding......................
