Have moaned on here before, and as I type this, he is bound to bang in a winner. However, everytime I hear him, and I have not watched all
today, he just seems to tip loser after loser. Or if he picks a winner, he has mentioned half the field, and the presenter and not Joe TBF says
he gave that a good mention.
When he first started he was quite decent at tipping, and the amount of times I have seen him really fancy one, it drifts after he says it.
In no way do I think it is deliberate, have a feeling his betting style is not suited to our betting, as he makes money from their exotics.

Maybe just be me, not sure about other SA racing followers, over a year, in the big races, lay the Fav, they are always
shorter than they should be.

suppose it is possible, you get a lot of odds pokes beaten over there, however you would need nerves of steel,

This was going so well until the morbidly obese……i suppose its like saying all English punters are stupid. But i try not to generalise. Yesterday was a tough day but i don't measure my punting in days, its a long game and year in year out i finish ahead.

I MUST stress though that YOU have zero chance of doing what i do because using an exchange and bookmakers ONLY is not the way to make money.

The TOTE is the only answer and as an owner it just so happens to tick a few other boxes over and above winning.

Yes i am a FIELD player, not ever leg but in some case FIELD is the only answer. You see some results are impossible to find unless you have an angle, that angle could be something as simple as backing/including a horse because it has the same name as your 1st love.

anyone that wants to openly debate and ultimately listen to betting strategies from me is most welcome to enquire , being civil though is a must.

So the 1st thing YOU need to know is that SA / HK and Aus is light years ahead when it comes to pool betting. In SA we have % betting, this means that you could work out a Scoop 6 for £12 342 and go to the window and bet £ 10 ands it will print a ticket with your numbers and the % you have of the pool. To some this might appear ludicrous but at that precise moment 2 things occur:

1: the small punter has a chance of catching the Scoop6 and getting a return relative to his lifestyle/spend
2: much more money goes into the pools.

If i begged any of you to do is to just for 1 week boycott bookmaker bets in the UK. Then start betting the tote.

hi joe , I will have a chat with you if you don't mind .

when you say FIELD , do you mean you back 3/4/5 in a race?

how would you go about that , are you dutching all runners for a fixed profit or  do you have 1 horse that will make a profit and the rest get your stake back ?

cheers

So the way i process betting is as follows and that is why even when they run 2nd or 3rd i collect.

1: Most bets i take are 80/20 with 80 going to the PLACE market. this i would do with horses mostly 5/1 and under.
2: If i fancy a horse at lets say 7/1 instead of £500 each way i rather do the following (lets say its number 1):
2:1 £400 wins
2:2 trifecta 1 x f x f (a few times) Float 1 x Field ( a few times) This means it can run 2nd or 3rd
2:3 quartet (1st 4 home in order) 1 x f x f x f
2:4 exactas 1 x f 30 times
2:5 exactas fx 1 10 times
2:6 Trifecta 1 x 2 or 3 choices x field loads of times.

now sometimes believe it or not i win HUGE by catching my "cover" exactas because sometimes they run 50/1 - 7/1 and the exacta pays 400 and i collect 4000 plus the floating trifectas.

not long ago in a race at Flamingo Park i spent R2300 on stuff like above and collected R487 000 now i know the rand is weak compared to our POUND but the return in the form of a unit is astounding.

No, you need to understand pool betting. For now forget about the politics that 20-30% is taken out.

So lets look at a simple thing like an exacta. Predicting 1st and 2nd.

If you fancy a horse at EVEN money then you should NOT be taking exactas, because you need to catch plenty for cheap to show a profit.

BUT

If you fancy a horse at 12/1 then YOU MUST take exactas

Your horse for 1st and ALL (field) the other horses for 2nd
and a cover
ALL for 1st and your horse for 2nd

Because its 12/1 even if the FAV runs 2nd YOU will break square BUT and this is the beauty of field betting

when the 12/1 wins and the 33/1 runs 2nd you in a position to collect big money, sometimes (has happened to me) the POOL.

thanks for the explanation joe

I would say your method would work better in Ireland than in the u.k. as the exactas in the u.k. can be pretty poor even with big price horses .

Some people might come on here and talk about value, this is because they have been programmed to think in a certain way.

So lets take the same 12/1 shot in a 16 horse field and a bank of £450

conventional UK betting is to take £225 each way if
the horse wins you will collect £3690 with a profit of £3240 and that is the MIN and MAX you can collect
the horse runs 2nd or 3rd you collect £765 with a profit of £315

My way is as follows (same horse)

£100 win at 12/1
Exacta 12/1 x field 16 times £240 spend
Exacta Field x 12/1 7 times £105 spend

If the horse wins I collect

£1300 from the win
depending on exacta dividend anything from 16 x £30 to 16 x £????

so this is what i do, NOT in every race and not every time but ALOT.

For low stakes multiple bets are a enjoyable supplement

.50,£1.00 units

best I've managed is 4 wins,n/r lucky 31, 11k for a £20 stake

bookies lov them because, even a double up,might not  get stake back

my single bets are on exchange

Always good to find a system that works for you

Hi Joe,

thanks for your replies and appreciate you always explain that you prefer to bet exotics, where as over here we do not. However what has often
confused me, like a lot of tipsters when they first come on they have a plethora of winners and then they start to dry up.
However, and please believe me when I say I think you are genuine about what you say, just wonder about your contacts. Last year particular,
comes to mind, 2 shorties, looked pretty certain, around 2.5 on the exchange, you gave the words you heard, horse backed into 2.1 then suddenly
you get all the money you wanted on and it continued to drift, I wonder about the contacts.
It reminds me of a time I had a very small share in a horse, I am told the horse was very novicey and would need a few runs. Saw a guy place £50
on it at 10s and 8s, as the race started I looked out for him and mentioned the names horse, he said trainer told him it would win. It came 6/15.
Information can be a dodgy thing.
Anway Joe, as a person I trust you, think you are a good guy to front up here and genuinely hope you have a good punting career. Whatever my comments
are, they maybe right/wrong, never done with my malice. And if you need to chill out, put you tube on, and listen to the music from my username. :).

Okay just a few facts:

1: If we show 9 races i have to have an opinion on all 9. because I REFUSE to "tip/select" a horse and not back it i end up backing all my selection when I'm on air. Saturday I lost £1700 my fee to be on air is a tad less than that. Had i been home i would NOT have had a bet on that card except for Master Sabina which i had done ante post.
2: There are some meetings where i absolutely have a major wager. This is because Ill have a view or an edge.
3: Contacts i have horses with 4 trainers in Sa and 1 in the UK. BUT in a field of 2 there is obviously already 1 more opinion. Try a field of 10….
4: I don't eat at the Savoy as I'm allergic to "too much porcelain showing" I prefer rodizio where you "lower the flag " when enough is enough
5: Exotics are the ONLY way you will ever win life changing money, the sooner you accept that the better.
6: They are only animals and sometimes the best laid plans go astray with a tummy ache
7: I always try to be fair in my responses what i am strong on is my hatred for bookmakers.

any other questions ill gladly answer.

You are an ambassador for a tipping site ( your twitter) are the results to be believed. And how is Leoboana ( apologies if spelt wrong ),
remember after its turf defeat you fancied it next time on the AW, I backed it that day place only, nice return, not sure if I would have
been happy with the ride for a win.

I had 2 bets today. 1 lost however backed Intisara and up for the day, it ran unplaced behind Oklahoma Sky, they ran in the same race the other day,
both came out today and won. I thought Oklahoma seemed a tidy sort, and very quickly turned out from 1st run. Now to the point. Intisara beat Forest Lawn,
who had not run for 452 days, could this horse Forest Lawn be a winner in waiting.

I am NOT an ambassador for a tipping site.

ipuntratings.com is like
timeform.com
racingpost.com
drf.com

it uses over 80 rules to produce ratings in every race. It then chucks out the TOP rated horse every day. There is ZERO human intervention sometimes i agree and sometimes i disagree with the ratings BUT overall i liked the product so i got myself associated.

Lebeoana is well he runs next Monday and should win. His turf start was the correct thing bu his off fore shoe came partially off and bent under his hoof. had it come off he would have run better but in this case he ran with 1 high heel and 3 flat shoes. He was slightly lame after the race.

I backed Oklahoma Sky and now in the 13h55 Bonfire Heart

BTW

the results are 100% accurate, BUT please remember that ipuntratings.com is about PLACE betting and NOT win betting. The "top rated" do win enough times but its all about place betting.
