Crazy ride - made up 5 lengths in a furlong and it was too much - Harzand had plenty left though.

By:
didnt have a bet but it would have been some horse to give that ground away
the aga khan does it again shades of dancing braves derby |

I think the best horse won but a shocking ride from Moore
By:
Coolmore need to get rid of Moore. He makes rides like this more often than enough
By:
greville starkey got slaughtered for less
By:
The Ranger had NOTHING left in the tank when getting to within 1/2 length of the winner

Thought the hoss was ASLEEP leaving the stalls
With the jockey as well ![]() |

I have never heard such nonsense

embarrassing thread

From a great draw allowed his horse to be third last, then gets boxed in when wanting to make his run it was a shocking ride and the reason he couldn't get by the winner was he'd used up all the energy from a hopeless position.

By:
Ridden the same as every "flying machine" or "world beater " in the yard , the tactics cost Spencer the job what chance it will for Moore.

i honestly taught the horse wasn't even going to run , he fell out of the stalls , so immature and babyish at the start he will improve a lot , can't blame moore the're not car's
By:
gave it too much to do - very few Derbys are won from that far back
By:
moore did nothing wrong. horse dogged it at chester and dogged it again today.....simply doesn't want to win
By:
A typical Moore piss poor ride.....best horse won though

No one is questioning that the horse maybe iffy. The discussion is around the jockey. Minding got him out of trouble yesterday due to her class
By:
Moore didn't look too clever on Minding yesterday either, horse got him out of it.
By:
Of course you can win from that far back. Pour Moi for one.
By:
Horse did not dog it , just given to much to do
By:
Lester always said you had to have a prominent position approaching Tattenham Corner
By:
why do ye think the horse was held up.... for the laugh?
he was held up imho cos ryan advised d'lads the horse was more suited to wimbledon tonight than epsom |
By:
Third last into the straight and challenges 7 horses wide -hardly an optimal strategy tbf.

Prep run for the
Irish Derbi ![]() |

Horse genuine enough but nothing more to give after given a mountain to climb, and people complain about JOB.

Moore hasn't really learnt how to ride the race which may sound strange as he's won it a few times. Watching videos of years gone by, the number of winners to come from the last 2 or 3 in the field are very few. Slow start and draw didn't make it easy and I was thinking during the race that Smullen was riding a bit of a clumsy race but being wide around the bend is no disaster in this race if you are better than most of the field. Moore perhaps trying to be too clever but time may tell the winner was just too good anyway.

Greville Starkey comparisons very interesting. Greville was slaughtered - a little unfairly I thought - by a racing media which did the job it was there to do. Thirty years on that doesn't happen, and the sport is much the poorer for it.
By:
Take the winner out and it would have been classed as a great ride. He got to Harzand's quarters but Harzand stayed on the better.
I'd say that US Army Ranger will prove to be a 10 furlong horse. The Eclipse could be his race. |
By:
Appalling ride, absolutely appalling ride, from start to finish!Anyone stating different is not watching same race or bet the winner!
By:
Will reverse the form at the Curragh
By:
One takes what this crowd say with a pinch of salt most of the time tbh. But the horse suffered from lack of experience imo. He may have been the second best on the day anyhow, but I doubt Moore would have hand-picked that posi.
By:
If that had been French jockey we would be hearing about nothing else. Yes Pour Moi cam from last to first but it's about the only one that's ever done that.
By:
And when the late Vincent (genius) O'Brien ran a pacemaker Piggott sat 2 lengths off the pace not a furlong
By:
Who gives a flying **** if reverses the form, utterly irrelevanmt,no one has backed it to win the bloody Irish Derby..I bet horse six months ago and an arrogant little **** who is above criticism by looks of it cost him his chance!
By:
I don't think he showed any inexperience. He handled the the Epsom hoo-ha perfectly and looked mega relaxed pre race and in the race itself and travelled beautifully. An unlucky loser imo as he didn't get the assistance from the saddle you would expect from the so called champion jockey.
By:
Taking nothing from winner and would expect him to win at Curragh in a rematch. Post to highlight what was terrible positioning from Moore - I'll defer to Lester anyway on where you need to be at Tat Corner and whilst Pour Moi might have come from there, he got a relatively clear run - simple point is it is more likely that you won't win from there.
By:
Too relaxed. Moore would have had to have stoked him up to get a position.

Thought he was on Dancing Brave .....oh ,hang on.....
