Yes, well done winners. First of many classic winners for Sea The Stars perhaps. Going away in the last 100 yards so no hard luck stories imo.

Well done winners, great to see a Derby win for a son of a wonderful horse.Like his Dad just does enough!!!!

Won ante- post had biggish place only bets on US Army Ranger. However blew all the "winnings" on the day, on backing the
horse for the win. Ryan could have had it a bit nearer, however, got there to win the race, and Harzand pulled out more, gutted....best horse won. WD Harzand backers. |

Across The Stars should have finished 13th on RPR ratings so did slightly better than expected in 10th. Winner was second top behind Massaat who obviously didn't stay so a very good result for RPR although I didn't back it.

The full story of how close Harzand came to not running is a real cracker - this is the story today from sl
"It was pretty chaotic," relates Weld at the press conference. "He was pretty unlikely to run. When the box bringing him to the airport turned, he just stood on his own foot and pulled a plate off and drew blood. When he got to the stable this morning and I saw him, he was very sore. We put him on ice for the next four hours. But he didn't damage the plate, it wasn't buckled, the plate came off clean and that was important. I called on Jim Reilly, Jim Bolger's vet, and he was able to put the plate back on very, very gently. I watched him do it and so did the track veterinarian. It was such a careful process. Then he was back in ice. At 2.20, his Highness was due to leave for the races, so we had to make the decision at 2pm. At five minutes to two, we made the decision, although I was watching very carefully as Pat rode him to post as I told him it had to be his call and that if wasn't happy in any way, he had to make that decision." |

:30 quite simple we now have two bets as the horse that spli a plate is runninng so Harzand is the lay of the day. im full banking him.i dont know what the plate is but sounds like its part of his foot? well what kind of mug backs a three footed horse at 10-1. huge lay.
