Laughable and treating the customers with absolute disdain. Some people will be taking this information on trust as actually coming from someone putting a shift in all the muck and bullets of the racecourse. Perish the thought parting with hard earned on the back of Jon Lee's fictitious trip to Windsor.

If you see this Mr Racing Post safely assume that your live reporter service is dead and buried. Use the space for another banner linking in to some affiliate scheme that keeps you boys in lucky 15's and Farah's.

This must be exposed and publicly ridiculed for the subterfuge and lies that it is.
What utter lunacy. Credibility of the Racing Post has finally reached its rock bottom. I wonder what the ' editor' will state in its defence ? |

would be hilarious if the live reporter was supposed to be on track but was pulling a ghostie :)

Is this a wind up because if it isn't this is the end of the racing post, any credability they had is gone.

I stopped buying it a few years ago when it started dumbing down apart from a few big days a year so doesnt really effect me but with people waging huge sums of money on each race a comment like above could be the final tick of a box for someone to lump on not realising the trainer doesnt fancy it any more due to it travelling badly in traffic to the course or something similar.
They really are treating the punters with contempt. It might even be fraud claiming to have spoken to the trainer 16 mins ago. |

And some people pay for that rag?
mug daily racing post buyer here ( some would say there are 4 words to many in that confession ) |
|
By:
Not the first time they have done it
|
|
By:
they've been at it for ages, quoting a trainer as if it's a comment live from the track in the last few minutes, when in fact it's been lifted from trainer website, or an old quote given days ago.

Windsor latest: Mount on the rise
Ed Dunlop rates Michael's Mount his best chance of the night. "He won in workmanlike fashion here two weeks ago and we hope he is a progressive type that can defy a 4lb rise for that win." Windsor adandons over 'slippy bend' safety fears BY JON LEES 8:00PM 9 MAY 2016 WINDSOR'S evening meeting was abandoned after three races on Monday after the stewards decided the bends were too slippy for racing to continue. An inspection was held after the 1m2f handicap in which the winner, Grapevine, almost came down when losing his footing on the bend 5f out, leading jockeys to express concerns about safety. Copied and pasted from their home page, only been up there all night... |

A new low for the boys and girls in Canary Wharf. Being editor of the Racing Post should be a prestigious position and to be brutally honest Millington is out of his depth. But strangely Byrne appears perfectly happy with him and there doesn't seem any likelihood of a change at the top even though he's been there quite a long time now.

I'm sure that the ''LIVE?''reporter at Chester last week noted how well Shergar looked in the paddock before the Chester Vase

Millington is the puppet of that there's little doubt. Intellectual capacity of Winnie The Pooh (on a good day) and as as he cant engage in meaningful debate (preferring to block on Twitter or ignore e mails) there's little chance of him standing up to Byrne.
No I wasn't rude to him on Twitter; I merely had the temerity to disagree with him and was blocked. |
|
By:
What's Byrne's agenda though? He is more of a racing man than Millington, who imo is a sports fan not a racing fan. Byrne breeds horses I think. There's definite signs the Racing Post is edging towards becoming a general sports paper.

any guesses as to the daily circulation of this rag?

To be a little more realistic - SHADDER -
You, surely have to add the LONG-TERM Subscribers to the racingpost.com website to the Daily circulation of the newspaper - to get a more realistic 'user'/reader figure. There will be, in fact are, many, many, people who follow racing who 'never missed a copy' of the Racing Post - BEFORE they became Internet aware - but now 'never miss a day' of being logged-on to the site. That equation applies to all newspapers - But more so to a specialist publication/site. |
