There was another one years ago, APALACHEE, trained by Vincent O'Brien and ridden by Piggott, odds-on for the Gns, was supposedly so fast could catch pigeons at home. Unbeaten in 4 races and was officially rated the best two-year-old in Britain and Ireland. Got well beat and never raced again, finished 3rd to Nonoalco.

Connections must be gutted. Ran like a dog and there's only one English 2,000. Problem with this Irish mafia lot they boast how good these horses are and us poor punters get dragged in. I backed him and won't be backing him again ( the horse that is ).

Something clearly not right. Why no info for the punter?
Saturday's Racing Post (so obviously before the race) page 3 listed "7 big issues that Ballydoyle ace (AFB) must overcome" which included Aidan O'Brien being worried Air Force Blue would not get the trip, and AO'B having reported that Air Force Blue hated yielding ground in the National Stakes.
Tom Segal in his Pricewise column drew attention to Air Force Blue's tongue tie and cross noseband, from which he inferred a troubled preparation.
Then there is the drift in the betting: 4/7 midweek out to evens on Saturday morning and 4/5 SP.
The clues were there (and no, I didn't back the winner or lay AFB).

Can anyone point me please towards the numerous posts crabbing the fact that the Bayllydoyle shortie with Moore up, finished behind their 2nd string 20/1 rag with Heffernan on?
Presumably "the lads" had a right old touch laying the @rse out of their odds-on fav and must have cleaned up!

There seems to be some confidence growing a head of his run in Ireland this weekend. I think anyone backing a horse who flopped as badly as he did last time out should save their money. I hope he proves me wrong but rarely do the top rated 2yrs comeback after a awful run like that.

totally disagree , to cast him aside after 1 bad run is jumping the gun , Yes i get what you are saying but the fact he is a big colt it is hard to believe he hasn't trained on to the degree that he could not at least finish fifth in the guineas , i take confidence in the fact that he finished last or near to it , if 11/4 is still around tomorrow il have a few euro's on him , to be honest am more worried about the ground could well be proper soft

* Over trained pre race * Used to much head gear * Shows to much speed
Already getting their excuse in won't handle good/soft ? Give us all a break and run your top rated 2yr horse from last year or retire him. Do us all a favour.

THANK YOU to all connections for running the horse. Most of us on here knew he should have been retired but NO these Irish boys fooled punters once again.
Hope you all laid plenty
