Good to see the usual nonsense arguments getting an airing again when this kind of thing happens from time to time.

A poorly judge ride when a leader goes off and nobody wants to lead the rest and do the donkey work for the field and close the leader down, until eventually someone realises "maybe I'd better think about doing it myself now" except often it's all too late.

Ima says it's all about the horse. 

Not much of a turnout and the ground was probably against the De Bromhead pair, so a couple of horses dominated in the betting. The manner of how it panned out was hardly satisfactory. All riders bar Barry Cash were called in by the stewards

VELOCITY BOY likes Limerick, has good form on heavy and stays farther. He was a revelation ridden this way, soon clear and apparently in little danger some way out. Indeed, he was full of running coming to the last, and the only threat to victory was that he might meet it too fast.

A lovely horse, he should be ridden handy henceforth on this evidence, as the others seemed unable to live with him. He seems better than ever, though the equipping of a tongue tie might have also been instrumental in this performance.

Noble Emperor was unlucky not to win at Gowran last time and things did not go his way here either, back over hurdles.
Barry Geraghty did not get after him until relatively late, and he had enormous ground to make up. He might be a horse who has to do it within his comfort zone, but you would fancy him to get closer to the winner if this race were run tomorrow.

the ban is correct but can anybody say why the starter allowed the race to begin; some had barely left the shute on to the course & the winner gained an unfair advantage right from the beginning - rancid stuff all round

starter should also be replaced by someone who knows the rules
