I backed Gods Own EW @ 10/1 in this week's QM Champion Chase in the 'Betting Without the Favourite' market. The fav finished 2nd and God's Own finished 4th. and the EW terms for the race are first three places.
However, IMO. without the fav, God's Own is third right?
Billy Hill's shop girl says no and proves it by showing me the results screen which obviously shows no mention of God's Own.
Am I clutching at straws here? Any help would be much appreciated.

you take the fav out and he comes 3rd. therefore places. speak to a different cashier...

Ask her to show you the screen without the favourite on it.
Fox go get your money and tell them to give you a free bet for being incompetent.
betting without the fav means pretend the fav is not running.
Just tell them you are here to play the FOBT's and I'm sure they will be much more accommodating.

It is a very simple market. There is no ambiguity. The selected 'fav' is removed and a new market is formed. The fav is simply removed from the finishing result.
From WH own site: "The finish position of the indicated horse will be ignored for any bets on this market"
Other site's t'cs:
Betting Without
Where we offer prices on an event without a nominated selection (normally the favourite); for settlement purposes the finishing position of the "without" selection will be ignored. Any each-way terms advertised are settled on the actual number of runners who take part in the race, excluding the "without" selections.
In markets where we are "Betting Without" a nominated selection, the place terms will be based on the remaining number of runners excluding the nominated selection.
...This is the same across the board. It's just cashier incompetence, speak to another one and get them to put her right for next time.
