You have to look at the language - if they 'paid out £60 million', they probably took in £61 million, imo.

Most of them (those listed on stock exchanges anyway) have to report this in their published trading statements, so would hazard the £60mil was close to the mark.

Would have been a lot worse had Squatter landed a blow, reckon a fair few would have been blindly backing the fav, as so many were going in.

min was obv the best result if the week, esp for billies. think how much the 4 timer would of copped and people who had it would of been betting bigger as with more cash in pockets.

for billies, in theory every losing bet was to be refunded up to 700 quid total as well if 4 timer was landed.

AS we all know -they will get it all back one way or another-and without trying too hard .
I would estimate that 70% of punters are of the 'mug" variety, who bet too often and chase losses and bet in the races that favour the bookmaker . Three years experience as Manager of a very busy betting office in Nottm has led me to know that there are VERY few punters who make it pay .

Just had an e mail from s bet we are tightening controls on your account no offers bog and reasons are possible abuse of offers not me but general we will monitor accounts for behaviour we consider to be against the spirit of our company. Recently i have been betting in small stakes on huge acc or golf and twice i won over £300     on these sort of bets. Is this abuse of the company i wanted a £1 patent and was offered 71 pence!

they always lose loads just before someone asks them to pay for the product.

how many of those losses actually became winners when they laid bets off with other books or on here.

maybe if they counted the losing bets punters had as well as the winners then their figures  wouldn't be so bad.
