My vote would go to Johnny Francome - being from the showjumping arena he used to be able to meet a fence on the correct stride more times than not

Jim Best had most success with AP.
On the flat Lester or Fallon.
I once had a tip for one where the trainer said that if it lost he would give up training. He put Fallon up and it won by a neck at 9/1 and paid for my holiday.

Stata for this would be fascinating. Dunwoody or Norman Williamson would be my choice.

oldgit - Is your first line is seriously meant in answer to the question as regards NH?

If so your answer suggests that your nomination would be AP, if the horse was trained by Jim Best. Did you misunderstand the questionCrazy

'stata' a fascinating word. Could be a blend of 'stats' and 'data' or a contraction of 'statistical data'.
