There are stacks of them of course, but what are your personal favourites?

NIJINSKY

GIACOMETTI

TOM CRIBB

are my top 3.

GW was a good horse. The Magniers call most of there horses after famous people.

I remember John Banks wanted to name a horse after Brian Clough, but the football legend refused permission, so Banks named it Blabbermouth Laugh

Phil Bull wanted to name one after Ho Chi Min but Weatherbys wouldn`t allow it and he ended up calling Ho Mi Chin or something like that. He complained to the Jockey Club that another owner should not have been allowed to name one after Henry Kissinger then.

Another surprising name that was passed was a decent horse named Ribbentrop, after the Nazi Foreign Minister. I think he was owned by Lord Rosebery.

Nijinsky would dance rings round Galileo

Tom Cribb would knock him out

Can't say the horse is good but Charlie Wingnut (2.20 Sedgefield) is my pick. Can't get more famous than first in line to the throne.
