i think TS has had his day hes like a golfer thats had a fantastic 10-12 years on tour and is sliding down the rankings. im nor sure with extra media work and his devotion to Reading whether he is now as sharp and as focused as he should be.
Been a defender of hin for a long time and followed the column since its inception and had some wonderful winners and made a nice few quid. I think Tom needs a break...His selections no longer fill me with much enthusiasm..His trio of selections on Saturday have become par for the course.
I hope i am wrong..and its a tough gig trying to unpick pretty tough races but his recent performances do not suggest someone who is peerless.
I think hes burnt out personally... But hes a decent bloke and hope that he can back on track.. i really do..but i think he needs a break.

yes that on its own doesnt look to bad..but if you were showing a graph..the arro would be pointing firmly downwards. Allied to the fact that he puts non gettable prices it means a poor situation where our flagship tipster is not doing it and then you cant get on anyway.
A far cry from when he was for long periods AND you could get on a reasonable bet...All gone ..the game is up.
I am certain..at ATTAINABLE prices not those ludicrous ones that last 30 second for £2.65 ew that followers would have made a loss over the last two years..Its also a lot of time and energy to do this...The column needs to be scuccessful.
I have backed Riverside City...naturally i hope it wins and Tom gets back on top...but i dont feel it...and either way the JPM mafia will dictate result.

I think nightfly u make a good point ive said before ts was an innovator in the good years now he is chasing bets.Forgive me not kowing all the details last flat omeara had a big winner on Friday and tom picked one of his on sat and also the outsider of two for a stable won one week tom chased the same a week later and the fav won so he seems to be playing catch up.Finally he was great on irish racing that's gone too and why keep tipping on pextra when in print he says he has not got a clue at the gaff tracks. Its such a shame I won a lot of money with tom now I barely look at his tips although I keep a record of the tips thanks to ash who posts them.

top spends 1% of his time in the formbook and 99% of his time in the oddschecker pages, picks any ricks out and then forms the case for the horse, rather than the other way around

Sir Tom to you
More likely, he spends no time in the formbook or on Oddschecker but a lot of time watching videos and making judgements about horses (and to a lesser extent jockeys). This means when he sees the card (and for a lot of PW races, there will be 5-day or even earlier entries) he already has a good idea who he fancies. When he sees the prices, he can then headline whichever of his shortlist is biggest.
So where's it all gone wrong? Two things mainly, imo.
First, overwork. Instead of watching and thinking about races five days a week, now he is on podcasts, bookies' networks, and writing a Weekender column. Oh, and recently he seems to have become a fixture on the Morning Line as well.
Second, mud. Soft and heavy ground makes life harder because it introduces a luck factor.

Care to explain what you mean by this please - in races such as those pw picks the form is plain to see and often half the field can be instantly scrubbed on v soft anyway.

that should help him not hinder him, during the summer on consistent good ground results go against the bookies with more races been run to form which shouldnt help segal finding horses at the other end of the market

No one has answered my points about chasing trends and irish info I accept heavy ground brings dud results can anyone explain kings runners do not have a problem with heavy going.
