And Kevin O'Ryan on course. Hey, we're being spoilt today...

I did a racing secretary course earlier in the year at NRC and then looked at their British Racing seminar, guess who was hosting it?
|
|
By:
I've never seen a good word about him on here and yet he's on 24/7
|
|
By:
I wonder if he knows how much the Betfair forum love him.
Mind you, thick Mick probably doesn't know how to switch a computer on ![]() |

What exactly does jockeys agent O'Ryan bring to the job of punditry? Horrendous with him, Fitzgerald and Bob'Dougal Maguire' Cooper on the same show. Every fav will be tipped and excessively spoken about as usual.

I like Mick Fitz. He is not frightened of work.
|
|
By:
We all have different perceptions of what 'work' is. Mine is 15 hours a day down the pit and Christmas Day off if ya lucky!
As for picking up around £500 a day for being sat in a warm studio for 3 or 4 hours and having to say a few words every now and then, I'd be reluctant to use the word 'work'! |
|
By:
I reckon he is a really nice bloke. On the TV too much though and was spouting some rubbish on CH4 yesterday and called out by Cunningham and Luck more than once.

GSM to George , I believe

I'm hopeless at acronyms Mike, so I hope that's not Get Stuffed Muppet!

Has Mick come across a videotape of the Channel 4 and ATR bigwigs in a compromising position with farmyard animals or worse?
There can't be any other explanation for his continued appearances. I have stopped watching racing when I see him. |

Mick Fitz - "Ruby DID NOT know that the loose horse had NO rider on it -
He thought that it STILL HAD had a JOCKEY ON IT - until a few strides from the line." Really?! |
|
By:
^ add:
Ruby tried to run the loose horse into the rails - when it was ALONGSIDE him - turning into the straight ... and then tried to get the loose horse to run out (still on his inner) approaching the next fence. Ruby then brought Djakadam more to the centre of the fences - to be AWAY from the loose horse. In my book - RUBY was WELL AWARE that it was a LOOSE horse - with NO JOCKEY on it ... and Fitzgerald was spouting utter tripe. |

A TV producers dream...
Can talk the hind legs off a donkey... and impervious to criticism. |
|
By:
That will be the day when you do 15 hours down the pit George. I think it is more likely to be 15 hour in the pit.

The jockey's apologist in full flow. Somewhere almost hidden is the idea that Noel Fehily just messed up.

What has this guy got on the ATR and C4 producers? Can we not have just a day off from having to listen to his complete drivel.
Even my missus...listening in the background...shouts at the TV when he is on. Please Mick go on holiday for a few weeks and give us some peace....and then make that holiday a few decades. Compete and total dross. |

He could be in trouble by describing Pointing as j codds's source of income! Supposed to be amateur.
|
|
By:
Talking of amateurs, how good is Nina Carberry. Exceptional timing there to beat the Mullins army.
|
|
By:
Not only does he completely spoil my Sunday viewing, but departs the studio with "I'll see you all at Leicester on Wednesday".
|
|
By:
I can only assume that ATR and channel 4 are not bothered about my friends, family and many on here who can no longer watch ATR, the Morning Line etc
I wonder if the advertisers/bosses are aware of the contempt that their presenters and programmes are now held by people who continue to love horse racing but just cant watch/listen to the likes of MF and most of the Morning Line lot |
|
By:
Give the fella a break because there are not many that have come back from extensive larynx surgery to work on TV...
|
|
By:
I like him
![]() ![]() dont forget the alternative could be Tommo |
|
By:
I can't bear to listen to anything Fitzgerald says. His voice just grinds into me and he is completely pointless anyway.
He must have organised a 10 year contract with ATR at the outset and it's too expensive for them to pay him off. |
|
By:
Most presenters or pundits seem to get some positive observations.
MF the exception that proves the rule! |
|
By:
One of the first times I saw MF as a presenter, he was going through a race at Kempton, stressing how crucial it is to be a in a handy position on the home bend.
Two races later, he was telling us all what a great track it was for hold-up horses and how the winning jockey did so well not to lose his cool and try to force his mount into contention too early. And its never improved. |
