Last time I saw him in the summer at both Nottingham and Pontefract, were I had a little chat with him about Tottenham he was in great spirits .

still going racing always good fun no matter what.

hello workrider hope your well, i was going to aintree/kelso/muss/ but the high winds and the very difficult journey to scotland put me off,so just had a day around the house.

not a good idea

Having a mare myself Foxy, roof damage and have the builders in , the heating went thurs night, man came to fix it but refused to finish the job saying the builders throwing stuff off the roof put him in danger, he wont come back till Tues . Heading to the dogs tonight and Punchetown tomorrow ,dreading getting into the shower , its bloody freezing .

next year workrider i am going to thurles/limerick and fairyhouse what the travelling like between them ?

by the way those heating men get money to easy.

Make sure you give me a call when you arrive ,will be in England from 18/4/16 for a week , hoping to take in Win N/Abbot Ludlow .Thurles and limerick are about 1 hour apart , Fairyhouse is near Dublin Airport about 20 mins from the course.

i will workrider ,you will like newton abbot and ludlow,warwick is on ,on the thursday that week that is one of our best national hunt courses if you can get to it, it is well worth the visit,ludlow by the way is a rotten journey time wise lots of nice scenery along the way however.

did a million in at Ascot as we all know

backed a winner with him in April at his pitch on the rails at Cheltenham and had a good chat to him, he's one of the nicest fellas you can meet, if you read this Gal happy Christmas all the best Ron.

I remember him betting at Ayr,top odds and payed out with a smile,wish there were a few more like him.

read his book..one of the better racing books around ...comes across as dead straight and likeable

Lovely man, have met and bet with him untold amounts of times over the last 30 years and win or lose he was always a pleasure to do business.

What a luvly birthday present reading this thanks lads still making a book at the races and got the grandchildren to look to the future be lucky and have a luvly Xmas xx

Just read his book, once started could not put it down, comes over as a super honest guy, good luck to him,my mate Honest Nev has met him and wont hear a bad word about him.

One day at Hereford, his machine wouldn't work when I was keen to get on a bet. No problem - he did it with no paperwork and honoured the bet with no fuss at all.

Another time, at Ludlow, he walked down to where a fallen horse lay on the ground. Fortunately, she got to her feet. We were all relieved. That told me he's a guy who cares.
I have no idea how he managed to bounce back after that Ascot blow, but I'm glad he did. Top man.

i have sent you a reply on that betfair system which i have never used before so hopefully it will find its way to you.

intheknow explained the probable situation which i also agree is the most probable reason for seeing him,the reason for my reaction was after my post regarding the poor racing post discription of gary (tote rep}i thought like many on this forum you were just making things up,i have an awful lot of time for gary like everybody in the racing game and just felt you might have been having a dig at him,clearly you were not and hopefully you can accept my apology.
