the most despised man in business, Fred Done, WAC
|
|
By:
And yet how many of the staff are in a union these days, considering we are always being told there's no need for them now and the subs are just a waste of time and money?
|

Why does Stevenson interview him on C4? The scum should not be allowed near a tv camera!
|
|
By:
Sums up the Racing Post. When baldy was crying about race sponsorship and threatening to walk away from the game it was splashed across the front page but when he is trying to treat his staff like sh1te it is tucked away on the inside pages. The gravy train is alive and well.

No doubt he will be availing himself of the best advice - from the biggest Employment consultancy service in the country ...
http://www.peninsulagrouplimited.com/ Peninsula Business Services PENINSULA BUSINESS SERVICES was set up in 1983 by Betfred founders Peter and Fred Done after a lack of legal support left them having to pay out more than £11,000 following an employment tribunal. Today it is the UK’s largest employment law and health-and-safety consultancy, and advises more than 26,000 clients. |

The staff involved should consult their respective MPs and try to bring this despicable little man to heel.

Do as I say,not as I do,Fred is a total Tory waanker
|
|
By:
Fred, obnoxious though he is, is not stupid so what's his reasoning for withholding redundancy money if it's legally due?
Costs involved in defending will be considerable so he'd only go down the route of defending if he thought he'd win. Don't get it unless there is more to the story. |
|
By:
if they`re on a contract of employment and have been employed for over 2 years it`s the law innit, the bald s***house has to pay,iv`e been made redundant in the past and the company has to honour your redundancy settlement,as well as pay long term staff their notice entitlement,if the company goes into liquidation then you have to claim from the government, which takes a bit longer, hope the rancid old scrote get`s his **** kicked for trying to con the hoi poloi out of their money

What a vile creature.
He is muti millionaire, and cannot be far off a billionaire. Yet trying to screw his employees. If he pays out will it affect his standard of living? Not in the slightest. Whatever happened to capitalists who still had a social conscience? A century ago, the Rowntree's factory was paying all its staff in York a higher-than-market wage. It wasn’t called a Living Wage then. Instead it was described as “productivity wages”. "The Rowntrees were concerned that their employees had enough money to live on, but the decision to pay well was as much about business as it was about social responsibility. Joseph Rowntree and son Seebohm Rowntree were not socialists. They were good capitalists who valued their commercial success. They believed that with that success came social responsibilities, because successful industry and good employment practices were both central in developing a good society for everyone. In 1914, Seebohm Rowntree said: “Employers… must be compelled to abandon the false economy of low wages, and the nation need not distrust movements which strengthen the economic position of the workers.” Bald Fred should take a leaf out of the Rowntree's book and pair fair and honest wages. Instead when his staff cannot afford to live he tries and takes more money of them in interest rates for loans. |

Not sure that we need a socialist rant on here but point taken...

Maleuk01, as I'm sure you know, the way business works these days is that companies will shaft their customers and employees in any way they can, and then use their PR frauds to try to turn their commercial cynicism into something else.
Stansted airport recently started charging people £2 to drop passengers off. Why are they doing it, according to their PR people - because they care about the environment, and want people to use public transport. A well known chocolate manufacturer recently reduced the size of their confectionary while still charging the same price for it. Why are they doing this, according to the PR team - because they care about the health of the nation, and they want people to reduce their calorie intake. Marks and Spencer were among the first retailers to charge for carrier bags. The money they collect from customers from charging for carriers all goes to environmental causes, say their PR people, because M and S 'care about the environment', - not mentioning the fact that millions of pounds a year in carrier bag costs have now been taken off their bottom line and passed on to the consumer (the recent government legislation requiring big retailers to charge for bags is just a cynical way for the government to make big business more profitable, masquerading as environmental concern, imo). Google, perhaps the one big company in the world that most people actually like, have a mantra 'Don't be evil', which just about sums it all up, unfortunately... |
|
By:
If the chocolate manufacturer above is so concerned about peoples health then why don't they stop making bars full of sugar?
|
|
By:
Every individual should pursue it - pretty sure they'll win. With Christmas around the corner he may well attempt to settle. DO NOT ALLOW HIM TO DO THIS !!!!
Yes, the Peninsula route is an interesting one, having set up the company!!! B****Fred are a disgrace in everything they do. Stick to your guns, you'll get full payout eventually |

Horrible man and company. But I remember when I worked for the prison service,a private company took over Birmhingam prison from HMP service All the staff were tupied ,the new company came in and put in horrible shift changes horrible holiday schemes cut wages massively and made around100 redundant with much less favourable terms than they were entitled to,who won the courts ruling? Well I can tell you it was not the prison staff.you see with Tupi there is so many clauses and get out that you have virtually no chance of getting a result.i worked at HMP Hatfield before I got motor neurone disease and we were going to be sold off so we got a very senior union rep to come from Londonds head office to talk us through it.after going through the ins and outs for 3 hours,he then told us you may as well rip up any Tupi agreement as it is not worth the paper it is writ on,I was forced to retire on hill health and after 8 years device I got £1000 pay off, fortunatlley the take over did not go ahead due to the fiddles the take over company had done, charging for looking after prisoners that had been dead for 2 years or more things like that
