its those sort of rides on a quiet Tuesday where they all slip under the radar...terrible stuff really..Too many favs already me thinks...brings the game YET AGAIN into disrepute

Cruised round and he still put it up the 'arris of every straggler and horse falling back into his lap.

...and they wonder why the game is dying

First off Brian Hughes didnt have to settle it in rear. He could of settled it 3rd or 4th a few lengths off one of the other form horses Riddlestown. Second of all and vital in spotting a non jigger Brian Hughes could easily of made up his ground be moving around Tanners Hill when the race was hotting up after jumping the last flight of hurdles down the far side second time round. Instead he seemed intent on staying on Tanners Hills quarters and almost tripped his mount up when eventually switching out . He basically broke his horses stride pattern which imo was his intention. When a horses stride is broke it takes a good bit of effort to get going again.... especially on soft ground. Then after switching out he decides to switch to Tanners Hills inside again turning in. Thats where the choppy ground is. Good thinking Brian!!!!!! WATCH CLOSELY after the second last hurdle. Brian picks up his stick and basically FLAPS at Coonan George instead of giving him a good slap . He didnt want to get stuck into his mount for fear his mount might pick up and finish on the heals of the second horse and that would have looked even worse. Connections may say that the horse didnt handle the ground and he was carrying plenty of weight which is true but i don't think anyone can say that this horse was given every possible chance to win that contest. He looks to me that today was certainly not the target and somewhere like Market Rasen on Boxing Day is........

No action taken by  stewards on this race

Have a look where he was positioned when he won his race!!!!!!      No flaps or air shots up the home straight either. A couple or sharp reminders and on he goes.   But we don't pay the horses bills so...............................Mischief

stewards...we're all in this together

Hi Joe, agree with a lot of what you say but I don't think he is straightforward, race LTO re was rode similarly (albeit not quite as far back), but was unfit and weakened after cruising into contention.

Not putting in an excuse as looked bad but perhaps a little breathing issue in there somewhere

hughes does not help himself but i have my doubt's about the horse being genuine, jefferson seems to think he will be better on faster ground and might be still a bit weak.

Yeah would tend to agree with ye lads. Deffo not a straight forward type.  Possible issues but he didnt half mind him today. Should be spot on next time out in a simular race on better ground with maybe Stan Sheppard taking 7 off on a flat track. Im prepared to give him another chance anyways.... :)

He was ridding it on the final bend. And he went through the top of the last two.
I'd say he hadn't got a lot left.

He broke a blood vessel a few races back as well.
He was tenderly ridden here there's no doubt about that.

That one he beat in that NHF race he won hasn't done anything since either.
