After today I should think Nicholls is having nightmares about the cooonts riding.

riding for p nicholls the most pressurised in nh racing imo you need a tough mentality for the job i only hope std can take the heat.

The one thing that strikes with me about Sam Twiston Davies is that when he's interviewed , he comes across as half a village idiot. He looks and sounds like hes not the brightest spark , and that's where he will differ from the likes of Geraghty , Walsh and Johnson.
He's an ok rider,in fact hes better than ok, but hes definitely lacking the ability of a real top jockey. Now you will hear people saying he's young and he will get better, but thats not good enough really, he has a job where its arequirement taht he is already the finished article, and hes old enough to be the finished article. Ruby Walsh was a world class rider at his age.

I can't recall seeing him give one a quiet time, and that's a bloody positive in the current climate if nothing else.

Kid's a trier, he'll be fine trust me.
Report jimeen November 28, 2015 4:50 PM GMT
He's a trier for certain, but hes lacking the x factor thats needed for a top jockey.
There are many niches that can be filled, and with his surname he will be fine. Losing the job at Nicholls didnt destroy Jacob, and he wouldnt hold Twiston Davies coat.

He was a 'trier' for his dad and that's what got him noticed.

Totally different ball game now he is riding for Nicholls. Needs to forget the idea of taking inspiration from the Ruby Walsh manual and try and remember what he used to do.
