Well one way to not get screwed by the BHA Handicapper is to run the horse in England. He looks to have limited ability but maybe they see him as a Fred Winter type in the making. The horse that won this Wetherby race last year ran in the Triumph. Just speculating ....

Why would you bring 1 horse, clearly of limited ability from Ireland for a Wetherby Maiden Hurdle?

To let someone see it run who might want to buy it.
To keep another horse company on the trip over.

I've heard trainers say both those things.
