Turned up this morning for a round of golf with my playing partner and he was fuming. He placed a 50p canadian on P/L matches..he backed Stoke,Liverpool,West Ham,West Brom and Sunderland. He worked the bet out to come to around £1270 at the racing post Saturday prices. When he went in to pick up his dough he was offered about half that amount..it transpires every price had been reduced and not by a mere half point. For example the 11/2 on WBA was settled at 4/1 as was the Sunderland price. All the prices on all his winning teams were savagely cut yet the prices on the fancied home teams remained the same if not a bit worse.
I am aware shop customers are taken for "right mugs" but this sharp practice is beyond a joke.Told him to phone the Doris at Ladbrokes c/c to ask for an explanation.Very poor.
Prices not on the slip.He wrote them out on one of Ladbrokes specialised canadian slip and ,more fool him, didn't ask for the prices..just expected the prices in the post to be more or less correct(give or take). The manager in the shop was full of sympathy and HE was the one who pointed out the fancied teams prices stayed the same except for Spurs whose price was cut.We all know about price changes but all these teams were unfancied...obviously had he placed the bet on line the "rip off" wouldn't have occurred.
My point is, the disparity between on line and shop prices is massive and the whole episode reeks of sharp practice.

if you look at any prices in the post offered the previous night in any sport there would be loads and loads of changes. cant comment on the disparity because you dont have a list of all the prices from what the shop were offering and on line at that time. .
there is a ridiculous amount of changes on most firms coupons now, its where we are unfortunately

Some companies have better prices for online customers than for shop customers. The racing post will use the online prices in their price grids and the companies will obviously use the biggest odds in any advertisment.
This could explain some(or all) of the difference.

I put a four game bet result and both teams to score on a Saturday. There hasn't been a week when the person processing the coupon hasn't said 'price changes' and I've said fine. Some times the changes have been in my favour and others not.
