With AW racing all year round and seemingly dwindling fields in the NH game due perhaps to the risk of injury with little compensation in prize money mean that a greater number of gutless non finishers are contesting NH races. It is not easy to quantify but I do get the impression fewer decent animals are being subjected to the NH game

Nowt more gutless than people who come on forums with stuff to promote.

A better question would be, if this is true how can we exploit it ?.

Part of problem is the good ex-Flat stock is being bought up for the southern Hemisphere, whereas in past it would have gone over hurdles

Are fields dwindling over the jumps?

Gutless finishers - how do you come to that conclusion?
Report duncan idaho November 25, 2015 11:52 AM GMT
yes, fields are dwindling over jumps...no stats to hand at present but there are stats to that effect

Could that be anything to do with summer jumping?
They used to shut the jumping down for the summer.

Are there fewer horses being trained for NH now than used to be the case?

As long as I can remember racing always seems to be going through some sort of crisis.
