You won't get many replies on the thread though, even though this is a far worse situation than when we get the lv actually behind atr...in that situation you simply don't play...but in this, the simple unfortunate truth is that plenty don't care and play anyhow

Yes, but it just bothers me as in this situation we have today should see all LV players flooding threads such as these with complaints, anyone who uses the LV would see the delay immediately, but it seems that many take the view of "3 seconds ish...that'll do" ...that winds me right up because we are encouraging it.

Come on duffy - it has always been this way - you have to put up with it because no-one ever listens. However it is still perfectly possible to play, the pics being 4 seconds in front of ATR which is 3 seconds behind live. Not perfect but if that's all we're offered.

It hasnt always been this way at all only recently its become an everyday occurence but even then it was fixed, at the moment its being ignored, they don't give a 5h1t about their clientele

Tbf are you expecting them to handtime it every day at every meeting even though it varies meeting to meeting? I checked today and as long as it was miles in front of ATR i thought no more of it.

It's thinking like that that keeps us getting a poor service

It's not good enough bilbo. We shouldn't be saying it's playable and if that's all we are getting etc We should be demanding 5 secs+ on all live video as they can and have done so. Anything less is not good enough

I really don't know what you're talking about. You obviously have no idea of the history of this live video product. There has been no-one more vociferous than myself in trying to improve the live video service as many on here will testify. It has taken years of complaining by myself and others to get to where we are today which is light years ahead of the service even 2 or 3 years ago. In comparison to then the current pictures we get are superb - they were always pausing and stuttering before and were truly appalling.
So really jamesdean keep your ignorant posts to yourself in future and be thankful for what we've got. Bear in mind the reason we are where we are is nothing to do with Betfair - it's the bastar ds at ATR who slowed their pictures down that caused us to have to use live video.

bilbo I took from your comment that you were implying there were still people who played off atr, which I doubt very much.
its been speeded back up btw now

You're saying be thankful for what we have and that 4 seconds ahead is somehow acceptable because it was worse before and that it is atr's fault. Just nonsense. It is Betfair who provide the live video and take our commission. They can and should be delivering live video to the 5+ seconds everyday at all tracks. They should also be checking each meeting before it starts to make sure it is working before racing starts.
Your at least it is better than it was and we should be thankful rhetoric is more damaging than good. Use your brain first then post.

You really are letting yourself down james. I have never said it could not be improved and that is the ideal but I can tell you for certain that this is the best we will ever get so get used to it and stop being such a moron who would rather insult than debate.

The point is that the pics now at Sedgefield are better than they were at the start of the day...so why accept the start of the day...the oh well attitude is no good whatsoever, you are asking for trouble going down that road.

If the powers that be read this thread they would gauge that there obviously people happy to play on the LV when it is slower than it can be
Bilbo
what if all of a sudden the lv went back to being as slow at Sedgefield was at the start of the day at every track all the time, IMO you wouldn't have any right to moan about it because you accept it when it happens occasionally.
When it happens we must take a cynical view about it and jump on it straight away.

just playing devils advocate here. but has anyone considered that there is a limit to the quality of the product supplied, and that when it 'speeds up' it might simply be down to there being fewer ppl using it as they give up? Im not so sure very much occurs when bf get involved, atr might somehow supply more bandwidth but Im not so sure. Atr provide a product at least possible cost, they dont care about IR players we all know that.

and I am sure the majority that use LV on here will have been using all 3
If it wasnt for this thread I doubt it very much that sedgefield would have been speeded up to what it should have been from the start

What are you saying, that too many people were trying to use Sedge LV all day thus slowing it down.....but fewer were using Ling and South, enabling them to run faster....then when everyone gave up on Sedge it was able to quicken up again....not seeing that.....anyway judging by what Bilbo has put, not many would have dropped out from playing Sedgefield in any case....can't see that scenario being the case at all.

Im hypothesising duffy. What we know is that the more clients use these types of products the worse they run. Maybe bandwith allocation to each event is determined or indeed they might simply generate differing amounts of interest. Not everyone plays sand racing for eg.

Hear what you are saying dusty but I think it would actually be worse as no one would be complaining to get it up to speed. They should just be checking it every day before every meeting rather than waiting on some of us complaining and highlighting it for them

Im not saying customers shouldnt complain when the product runs badly james Im just wondering if this is how it occurs. Perhaps sedge was an example of atr not allocating much bandwidth for that meet and it being over exposed, ppl give up and it miraculously speeds up?

I'd say it speeds up because people complain though and then Betfair get on the case to sort it out rather than because less people are using it. Would assume the same players would use all 3 live video tracks so in that case all 3 would be slow if it was down to traffic. Agree they don't time the product continuously, that's a given given the amount of times it's slow. They bloody well should time it though. Maybe not continuously but at least time them all once pre racing and make sure all are up to speed. They have a live video team apparently

It could be that atr do, when requested allocate more bandwidth for a course. But I'm thinking that the reason one might be slow while another ok is that they are simply over exposed in relation to what's allocated each one. They probably have a decent idea how many users will be using for each event and cut it back to that number, so even pokey meets that no funker is that interested in go slow when interest peeks and exceeds allocation. BF and atr both wouldn't give anyone the steam off their p1ss and make it as 'efficient' as possible at all times, with the customer being the first to notice when it's them that suffer. It really is pitiful for a companies to defer responsibility and people should complain, but as you suggest they shouldn't have to. (I doubt they do have a LV team, as of recently they only had 1 person (usually just 2) working in the PC dept.)

I reckon it's Roida he probably has top secret tech equipment set up near the track that intercepts the signal and delays it so he can have even more of an advantage.. could be wrong though
