Ascot 12:20 - Label Des Obeaux - 7/1 - Whilst Red Hanrahan is likely to be on anyone's shortlist, and guaranteed a place, bar another fall, the one I am interested in is Alan King's inmate, who I rate listed class, as whilst lightly raced, his Pau and Auteuil form read very well, as they are xlinked to the two top 4yos in France, Bonito Du Berlais and Blue Dragon.
Haydock 13:15 - Rock The Kasbah - 5/1 - One has the impression most of these wont get the soft ground, let alone the fact they are a little out of their class. NickyH's Hunters Hoof clearly likes these flat tracks but has always raced on goodish ground, though he does have a pronounced soft ground action. Perhaps the last 9lb hike will haul him in. The favourite Gunner Fifteen is lightly raced, and whilst the ground is in his favour, and has won a bumper and a maiden hurdle by wide margins he has not met reasonable yardsticks. The selection though is on the up, has more than decent novice back class, ran second last time out is a Class1 grade 3 hcp hurdle, and the trainer is in decent form. __________________ Have Fun, Bob
