If they doesn't fluff the last jump it wins and that's why when I see a horse in 2nd running all over the leader, I like to see it kick on going to the last to have that little buffer of a lead so that it can afford a mistake and still not be as significant if only upsides jumping it or in 2nd and pitting in an iffy jump.
I said similar last year when Zarkandar should have beaten Reve De Sivola in the Long Walk at Ascot when running all over him but making a mistake at the last when held up in 2nd and then couldn't recover in time, although not too many on here agreed at the time.
