George - I'm getting a 'page not found' when clicking on the 'One Hundred Years Ago Today' link on your home page, as at the time of this post.

Sorry, that's an old link from some time ago. I thought I had taken it down.
Incidentally, I still do free racecards for everyone. Just tell me which you want and I'll email them to you.

George

I keep finding extras every time I visit the site. There are now leading jockeys tables going back to about 1880. Got me looking up the likes of Mornington Cannon and the Loates brothers whom I knew very little about tbh.

...for Joe Tizzard in that list - I wonder why Confused

Gibberish... there are scores of jockeys not yet entered in Jockeypedia. It is a living site, if you like. It gets added to every day. Seven went in today. I just haven't got round to Joe Tizzard yet. The thing to do is email Jockeypedia if you notice a jockey that I haven't yet done and I'll include him.

Thanks mate...I didn't realise that - I just think it's strange how many very obscure jockeys from decades ago are included.
PS - excellent website btw.

A truly magnificent site imo.Well done George, keep it going, do you happen to do any old Irish race cards from the70s tia ?

Gibberish - George can answer for himself, but I believe that his focus has been on stuff that is not widely (or even anywhere!!) available. The records of recent jockeys like Tizzard and others are easily available all over the net. The value is is the older stuff, much of which being anecdotal, could well have been lost for ever.

Amazing site well done and thanks for doing it.

100 years on Joe Tizzard will be obscure.

Thanks everyone for your interest.

workrider: I don't have any Irish cards apart from the Irish Derbies and the like.

blackbarm: You are spot on! There's loads of stuff on the net about all the current jockeys. Not everyone can be Lester Piggott - therefore I go looking for the less successful jockeys who otherwise would be forgotten.

Gibberish: Think of Jockeypedia as a dictionary. You don't just include the words we all use everyday - it would be a very thin dictionary. You include words that are rarely heard. That's why the Oxford English Dictionary runs into several volumes. Every word is included and Jockeypedia will try to include every jockey.

ladycarla: Thank you for your kind words.

saxon farm: Thank you.
