No it wouldn't ! If those 2 horses had won you wouldn't get the money either. It's happened to me !!!!!

What happened to you?
Report duncan idaho November 10, 2015 4:20 PM GMT
so who pays out the people you've lost 2x £500 to?
Report Swardean November 10, 2015 4:21 PM GMT
If you have additional funds in your account it will come from that, otherwise you will get a negative balance and they will chase you up with threat of the big boys
Report Gerbs November 10, 2015 4:22 PM GMT
or where does the  losers money go if you back a winner
Report flipem November 10, 2015 4:27 PM GMT
When I queried it, I was told that betfair themselves stand all the winnings and losses. I suppose that makes sense
I backed a winner that was dq after a long wait after a stewards was called after 6-8 minutes. But in the meantime I backed a 9/2 winner with my 'winnings' only to find out that I had won nothing as my account would have been zero. From what I remember I had £25 on a 7/4 winner and then bet my 'winnings on just under £80 on a 11/8 winner. I remember thinking I would have deposited some more money into my account if my 'winner' had been a lose as the 11/8 winner was the horse I really fancied lol. This was about 8 months ago but stil remember it lol
Report flipem November 10, 2015 4:28 PM GMT
Meant just under £70 not £80 !

Many people have reported on here over the years that their account was now in negative balance after Betfair had resettled a market and taken back their winnings.
Report BFAvi November 10, 2015 4:33 PM GMT
My account balance is now in negative. I took my winnings from the dq'd market and then bet on another race that i lost.
Report onlooker November 10, 2015 4:33 PM GMT
^ So the person who LAID your subsequent, secondary bet  11/8 winner - for £110 - then did NOT end up Paying out? - or  ...

Did Betfair KEEP 'your'/the £110 Winnings - and that LAYER still Lost.

THAT - if your statement is both True and Correct - Opens up a 'whole can of worms'.
Report toilettennisplayer November 10, 2015 4:33 PM GMT
maybe they stand the losses as above, though if you have a negative balance of 1k then surely you cant deposit without first clearing the balance, but i know for a fact if you win, make a withdrawal, and then it gets disqualified to put you on a negative balance, they take the liberty of cancelling the withdrawal to pay for the losses - happened to me 2 weeks ago ...

should be void imo because the funds dont exist for subsequent bets
Report Poppydog. November 10, 2015 4:36 PM GMT
There's a 12 hour window on withdrawals - plenty of time for Betfair to reverse panic withdrawals.
Report flipem November 10, 2015 4:38 PM GMT
I'm not sure onlooker. All I was told in the phone was that betfair stand all the bets resulting from a negative or indeed positive balance when this happens. Luckily it's only ever happened once to me.
For those that go into a negative balance as they've thought they'd backed  a winner should ring betfair and query it. It's probably in their rules somewhere I guess ???

impos surely...if you use funds to win £1000 off someone and the 1st bet is reversed your telling me the person who loses £1000 gets it back?  no chance

See the MSE / League Cup furore for an obvious example.

all that headache over about 90 grammes

how much does a teaspoon of semen weigh?
Report elise November 10, 2015 5:37 PM GMT
worrying that you measure it by the teaspoon dusty, i'd bet most people in your house refuse to have sugar in their coffee
Report dustybin November 10, 2015 5:46 PM GMT
Mischief
might be why I live alone elise

on a slightly more serious note

If they say the following bets 'didnt occur', then what funds were used to win the 1000 in the first place?
I.E what if you had 100 quid in the account to start to win the 1k, would that mean 100's worth of bet was allowed to be supposedly matched in the following losing bets?

sounds rather contrived to me.....most likely they just debit the account to leave in a minus figure....after all they allegedly have given credit bets in the past have they not?
Report xmoneyx November 10, 2015 5:52 PM GMT
why was it DQ?
