A long time since SC ran over hurdles but his last run over 2 miles one furlong at Cheltemnham was a very good third to Menorah and Cue Card giving 4lb to both! 2 miles 5 should be a good distance for him over hurdles as he only just gets 3 miles imo.

He's won a lot of times over three miles for a horse that only just gets it. He might take some pegging back if he gets into a rhythm.

3s sounds very generous to me.

Im tempted sageform, he was a top hurdler and if this race was worth 200k he would probably  win.

I dont think they would ever give him a hard race tomorrow but he has the  class and may well provide.

Its him or Brother Tedd.

All about prices at the end of the day.

Agreed IS, but if they wanted a pipe opener, why not over fences? As we saw today with Saphir de Reu, a class horse can win over a distance short of his optimum if he is fit.

if he's trying i think he's thrown in , people forget how good a hurdler he was , didn't get much 7-2 but he's still worth the risk at 11-4/3-1 i think swell

Nicholls hadn't got him fit for the Charlie Hall on his reapperence last season. Doubt very much he'll be fit tomorrow. Nice pipeopener for the long season ahead.

No chance that he will be 100 percent fit and off for his life. It's possible his class will pull him through if he is close enough to full fitness.

Now favourite so I was not the only one who thought that 4 on here was generous. It is not excatly a warm handicap is it?

I think there was enough in that run to suggest the horse is as good as last year in all likelihood.

Is SC in the Hennessy? Handicap mark the most likely reason for a hurdle prep. on the other hand his hurdle mark looked pretty low and perhaps they wanted to get that down a bit more for the Pertemps final. Brother Ted could prove a lot better than his mark of course. I was slightly disappointed by Fingal bay as I thought he would win if he jumped OK.
