Coolmore bought American Pharaoh, Darley bought Golden Horn

Doesn't look too clever at the moment but Golden Horn's sire is more fashionable.

American Pharaoh's Sire has got very few TURF horses - and none of any real consequence.

Darley have bought a stallion to, hopefully, sire Global performers - as opposed to just domestic Dirt horses.

Has Cape Cross got many dirt winners ?

Incidentally the 4 colts who made a big impression in the dirt races are all from non-Northern Dancer sire lines. American Pharoah and Nyquist are from Mr Prospector lines both through Unbridled I think. Runhappy and Liam's Map are from Native Dancer and Nasrullah lines that you no longer see in the British Isles. Liam's Map at a quick glance hasn't got Northern Dancer in his pedigree at all,which is something you would no longer see in a GB/Ire flat horse.

Liam's Map is also Unbridled Salmon and free of Northern Dancer. Runhappy is almost free too, his granddam Jolie Boutique is by the obscure Northern Dancer stallion Northern Jove.

It's Nyquist who is from a Nasrullah line via Caro which used to be around over here but has been swallowed up by Northern Dancer lines.

I'm the same Salmon, used to be able to reel pedigrees off but need a little back up these days..
