There is a guy called "The Slick" on the Irish forum and he never misses a tip from the Daily Star.

I didn't know they covered racing but apparently it's well worth the 20 pence.

the sporting life is a good read but not as tidy as the racing post for reading on the bus
Report rv3 October 28, 2015 6:47 PM GMT
thanks guys, so there is not a real alternative to buy daily :(
Report horusisis October 28, 2015 6:53 PM GMT
i think the only real alternative is the saturday paper

Why would you need a paper when all the form is available to watch at a click of a button?

i like it to have a look in morning

If you need cards to glance at for a refresher just use the free part of timeform.

Much as I would love to disagree rv3, there is nothing out there that competes with the Racing Post.  Racing Plus should really have closed down by now for what use it is.

Well I prefer Racing Plus with the cards in time order -and what is not to like about Sir Bob?

Sporting Life is a much better paper that the Sporting Chronicle.

^ Quintin Gilbey was an awful pundit.

Just a case of - 'right name - right place' - from an era when that mattered more than ability.

Oh - hang on a minute - most of that still applies nowadays, too. Sad

The Sporting Life and Greyhound Express (paper form) - where are you now we need you Wink
Report sparrow October 30, 2015 9:09 AM GMT
I still have some copies of the Greyhound Express. As for the Sporting Life I miss "Man on the Spot" and the "Green Seal Service".

The Racing Post desperately needs a kick up the arse from some competition. Woefully underachieving paper.

Just pumps page after page of complete sh ite..

No substance at all and if I am passing an fobt emporium love to read a copy which takes about five minutes or even less when the ex-Crayford kennel cleaner has his column..

Should be termed 10 000 words that mean nothing unless you are paid extra to spout them..

He is a clueless odious individual that should have been left face down in his Crayford sweepings...
