I remember once on the old ATR, some chap with ginger hair appearing at Newcastle, described himself as some sort of racing advisor, don't think he ever appeared again Shocked

How could I ever forget Matt Doyle, that Joe Pesci impression he did on the last day of the old ATR was one of the funniest things I've ever seen on daytime telly Laugh

On a serious note I always liked "Stormin' Norman", Williamson, especially Cheltenham week.

A lot easier on the ear than Fitzy

As far as I'm aware, they're all living happily ever after.

Though having said that, it's highly likely that they and those of us reading will this thread will all be dead within 100 years from now.

And on that cheerful note, I bid you all a good evening.

I've not seen him on a while, though I stand to be corrected.

John Lowe got regular occurrences in the studio for a few years running.

Must also mention that young American commentator, somebody Horowitz who was on a working visit for a couple of months, though he would only commentate on one or two races on a card. He would sometimes use UK commentary phrases without understanding the meaning eg ' they're straightening up for home' at the 2f marker in a race with a 4f straight.
