So little on that last race at Chelmsford. Not sure it's the best guide but was still depressingly dire.

1 sh1t meeting on live video with nothing inbetween for 30 minutes.
A high % of customers struggling to log in. 16 europa league games on with Liverpool, Tottenham and Celtic playing All = a false reading. Not that it is great at other times, just that tonight is understandable. |

The game's dominated by lurkers who only want to click when the odds are hugely in their favour,,,

lets hope so

that's because no one can log in Roida

in running punters like money more than they like racing, wouldnt bother me if they got put out of business
By:
Same with any kind of betting is it not?

The BHA stated the other day that they were targeting Thursday night as a GOOD night for racing as it's not a great night for football.

have you ever considered putting a bet on pre-race what like the other millions who dont get any further forward. |
By:
roida failed pre race, now he pays to win

All liqudity on Horse Racing (pre race included) is in decline due in part but not entirely to the following factors.
1) A decrease in public interest in betting on Horse Racing largely due to people having other things to bet on and younger people not taking up betting on Horse Racing. 2) Betfair's decision to stop promoting the Exchange and concentrate all efforts and advertising into a Sportsbook facility in which only losing customers are allowed to bet and hence lose money direct to Betfair. 3) Saturation of wall to wall racing allowed/caused by the bookmaker driven organistation that "runs" the sport. 4) The new website causing technical issues which prevent some customers from accessing it and also putting others off because they hate the interface. 5) Punters getting turned off by the blind eye taken to the corruption within the Sport. Have I missed anything? |

when only 1 uk evening meet........inrunning peops log off at 6pm

You have missed out the most important factor affecting in-running which is people at the track and those with fast pictures having a massive advantage over everyone else. Eventually the majority give up or go skint.

lets have a whip round for roida

You missed the last in the King George back in the day when I thought you were a certainty and backed you accordingly. Still sends a shiver down my spine.
By:
JB, correct. As far as in-running betting is concerned that is correct. The complete lack of fairness of the in-running delays will have send plenty skint and persuaded others to give up. ATR complicity in intentionally delaying pictures has undoubtedly contributed to the demise of the in-running markets also.
Kitkatt, if you will back dodgy jumpers (as did I, not one of the high points of my betting past!)... |

All part of the learning curve.

no track players at chelms..just raw feeders..(prob callers though)
By:
In all seriousness, it was almost certainly a value bet in spite of the outcome!
By:
The Racing Post is a poor shop window for racing, ATR is a poor shop window for racing, the bookmakers promote products with higher margins, RUK is ok but too expensive for average Joe, BHA run the sport badly. Basically no one promotes the game in a good way.
The Post's coverage of IR is basically Rodway saying something went 1.04 and something else went 1.05. |
By:
I don't think the Post is there to promote in-running betting but I do think the paper's coverage overall is poor and like the rest of the media will brush any suggestion of corruprion or incompetence within the sport under the carpet as best it can.
I also think their rancid slow website is offputting for punters. |
By:
Even though I took quite a financial hit by my own standards, I was actually more disappointed for the horse and connections, as it was about to be one of the great KG performances.

I was on that day too kk - Adrian Maguire as far as I remember

ha ha lurkers ... so in other words you want people taking worse odds you are offering to give you a profit .. not that you are a lurker at all . :)
