I'm a big fan of this horse but connections have kept him away from soft ground for a reason and its case of their hand being forced here. Maybe his class will see him through?

After listening to the Trainer i would be far from confident......Never heard him so downbeat about a horse.

With doubts about the big two in the betting and surely eased down if it doesn't go well

The RF/c at 7/4 is a very tempting lay

Now gleneagles value will drop. Aidan comments suggested he didn't want to run him.

Minor injury found and retired NAP.  What they should do is run him in the breeders cup.

He's been put under enormous pressure to run the horse today because the horse missed the last couple of engagements. Now maybe people who were criticizing him the last couple of times for not running the horse will hold their hands up and admit he was right.

The going is absolutely vital to some horses, as it very much is for Glenegales.

No I don't agree.

They should have run at Goodwood, it was better ground than today and they would have known where they were with Solow.  If they had of run at Goodwood they would have known to bypass today (ground too soft) and go straight to the Breeders Cup.  A royal feck up since Ascot.

A lot of fuss - and for what? They have done well to win two classics, with a horse that is just not that good. At some point he had to do it on the track and he failed. The hype machine which the stable stokes up with the help of an unquestioning media, had him built up like others before him, as a superstar. More Cockney Rebel than El Gran Señor.

I don't know why he's been aimed at classic. He's not bred for it and the mile on gf is ideal.

the ground was hardly a bog.

If you were a breeder wouldn't you prefer to use horse who is ground versatile? rather than a horse who needs firm in the title?

Can understand good horse not going say in heavy ground , but good to soft a great horse should cope with easily.

Or he maybe just not as good as people thought?

With the English weather if your horse cannot cope with good to soft going you are going to be pretty limited with your options.

exactly, when I say any ground I mean any reasonable ground, so excluding extremes of heavy or concrete.

If there was any soft in the ground yesterday, Clever Cookie would have hosed up.

Anybody who backed the horse must be a mug will be placed in the classic.

Clever Cookie lost because of the ride Mr slow motion gave it. Do you think it was well backed because there was no soft in the ground.?

It was a poor ride on CC (went long way round) so that didn't help either.
