The owner turned down £15m for him after the Eclipse and sold to Darley for a shade under £30m. For comparison purposes, Coolmore bought American Pharaoh outright for $40m.

^ Not necessarily so.
Although you can say it about any potential Sire - Who is to say that American Pharoah WILL, definitely, make a top-class Sire? The dam is nothing special AMERICAN PHARAOH Sire: Pioneerof The Nile (USA) Dam: Littleprincessemma (USA) Dam's sire: Yankee Gentleman (USA) (6.2f) $300,000 Y; second foal; half-brother to winner in USA; dam US maiden, closely related to US 7f Grade 2 winner Storm Wolf and 6.5f Grade 3 winner Misty Rosette out of 5f stakes winner His Sire - Pioneerof The Nile (USA) - Has only been getting DIRT performers - and even his winning Polytrack performer, at Woodbine, Conquest Top Gun - Won his first two on the Polytrack, but then finished 5th, and last of 7 on TURF. ---------- Unless Coolmore are thinking of opening up a Stallion base IN AMERICA, though. ![]() |

Exactly. It wasn't Darley who made the initial £15m bid either.

30m for half a share?? I doubt he will shuttle as his half-owner doesn't seem to like seeing him far from home.
If he is worth 60m, how much his fee will be? |

Thank you - Dr Gonzo and Mr_Mustang.
I overlooked that, being far more preoccupied with Turf racing - and, consequently, their Australian arm, aswell, away from Ireland. |

Because a particular horse is sired by an owner's stallion, does that make that horse bred by the stallion's owner?
I was always under the impression that the breeder was the broodmare's owner who just paid to have the stallion cover their mare. |
