A fair question to ask.
Having reviewed his posts for the p&l analysis I came to the conclusion that there appeared to be a pattern to his activity on here, perhaps in line with a person doing shifts, erratic continual posting for two days at a time, followed by posts mostly after 5 in the afternoon for the immediate period after, he confirmed he was retired and it was no one else's business and I had no wish to take it further as it was merely an observation on my part.

It depends if his lay system is successful or not.
When he was successful at the beginning he calculated the profit within minutes after the last race he had a lay.
At the moment its not going well it takes days till he calculates his p/l

special attention now being given to the fav 'place lays'..although this wasnt advised

The manner of his posts (when apparently bored) and his language generally was quite unlike accountants I know! 
The selections started off promisingly enough though in the first thread. I reckon he 'tweeked' them and lost the 'edge'.
Also relying on the sels being favourite made no sense because many werent clear favs until the result.
He says the picks took a few minutes to do which indicates a stats/ratings/naps based system also considering that some didnt have enough form.
Thats not a criticism btw. I couldnt crack the method and I like to think I'm quite good at that sort of thing.
But like nearly all systems, it didnt work especially when laying against poor odds (BFSP) that are def not in your favour.

I read them for the same reason most others do, it helps to reassure us that our own lives are not so bad, plus some of us really do have hours to wile away in the afternoon, as we wait to play the races we wish to be involved in.

Consider the following scenario and for once answer it honestly rather than lies...... ok?
Its royal ascot, lets say you have noted a few horses you are going to back @ 1K each, loose change to you eh?
Horse A, very confident selection and you have already planned to put 1K on it, lets say you have been following a tipster eg Thommo (pretend he is good) not to big stakes but nevertheless backing his selections, he tells you Horse A wont win, what do you do? Do you go against your initial confident selection or follow thommo and give a honest answer

if i had confidence in my own ability would i need to follow any tipster? they have no advantage in picking selections over yourself if you're competent.

I have more confidence in my own ability, daily racing is trash, the big meetings are the ones that matters....
Yes I have confidence in the system but remember its a system and as its showed in past couple months its been hit/miss showing a small loss......
