Have to agree Paris, why they had to change is beyond me, it is a case of "where else will they go. we have them by the 8alls"
Where do they get their idea's that they have to change, no matter what. |

Also I regret to have to mention that your ipad app is dreadful too. For instance, on soccer over/under goal markets, if I select the over 4.5 goals market it will display the over 5.5 goals market and if I choose the over 3.5 market it displays the 4.5 market. Not all the time, granted, but frequently enough to make me nervous that I'm actually betting on the market I wanted to in the first instance. This of course is wholly unacceptable.

woolworths and Tesco would not listen to their customers.
|

ANY company that do not listen to their customers all end up doomed, and history has a habit of repeating itself.
betfair the clock is ticking for you,the only difference is that the betfair customers will do their walking with their fingers. |
|
By:
The fact that the "Why we are closing the old site" thread does not let you their customers reply tells you all need to know about what Betfair think of THEIR CUSTOMERS.
We will tell you whats good for you, we know best, now get your bank cards out and keep betting. ![]() |

When Coca-Cola changed the Formula/Taste of 'COKE' ...
The American public's reaction to the change was negative, even hostile, and the new cola was a major marketing failure. The subsequent reintroduction less than three months later of Coke's original formula, re-branded as "Coca-Cola Classic", resulted in a significant gain in sales. New Coke was only on the market in the United States for a short period, but it remains influential as a cautionary tale against tampering too extensively with a well-established and successful brand. |

Could this be a business move by Betfair that could rival that of Gerald Ratner?

"We believe the new site has significant benefits for customers because of the extra features it offers"
he says, believe because they haven't properly user tested it and are asking the customers to submit fault reports. Mr Cutter, I used to be a management consultant and worked on some big IT projects for some very big and successful companies. Their CTOs would never believe ... the project team would test to destruction before release, and the CTO would be confident to release the new system, upgrade or whatever - he wouldn't have to believe. Please feel free to contact me and I will give you some free advice. And your long and tortuous explanation is pure rubbish. Users are not interested in the bits and bytes - they just want a user interface that's simple to use - like the user interface for the old site. There is no reason why you cannot replicate that and still use new technology for processing. |

The worst thing is that they have had the 'new' site up for about 2 years or so, and have not even bothered to fix a majority of the bugs that have been present (and reported by many users) for that entire period.

I seem to be in the minority I guess but find the new site (horse racing ) no better or no worse than the old. Granted I primarily use gruss once racing starts, but prior to racing I have found little or no difference to what I need to do. Did struggle to navigate to the timeform results page but got there eventually. Last night was the first time I looked at the old site but am aware there have been some things changed by betfair after being highlighted by posters on the forum. For me and speaking only for me very little has changed.

"Why are we closing the old site?"
Customers using Exchange+ have access to features that are not available in Classic, such as Cash Out (recently extended to in play racing), Each Way markets and data visualisation powered by the fastest feeds we can use. Exchange+ users can also see the extra liquidity offered in markets as a result of liquidity pooling (read more about this here: ------------------------ Cash Out (recently extended to in play racing) CASH OUT - Nowhere near QUICK enough, or race representative enough for, "in play racing." The 'in-running' prices change far too fast for CASH OUT to keep up. It is a different scenario on a Football Match - where the prices are only changing by a couple of TICKS at a time. Each Way markets - Have you seen the atrocious value, lack of liquidity, and under-pricing (for Backers) - in this FOOLS (only) Market? - or do you not understand that modus operandi, Mr Cutter. the extra liquidity offered in markets as a result of liquidity pooling This does NOT apply to HORSE RACING Markets. |

Good post. Green up button on Gruss is a no-go in running, nevermind cash out on the site. Do you bet in running Mr Cutter? |

Slow and **** total disregard for customers. Lets hope share price crashes when nobody ME INCLUDED can be bothered to bet. What a mess. We've gone from a stellar product to something equivalent of the beano. Somebody is stuck up their arse and not me.

there isn't going to be a change of heart
the money has been invested in the new platform, despite the flaws their view will be that it's now a case of run with it be cause the cost of maintaining both can't be justified so even though they themselves know it has issues they want us to cope while they try and improve it it's a simple business decision, either pish off the city/shareholders or pish off the customer and they still feel we're the easier to manage |
