Is the old site gone now, cannot access the old site today.
I work mostly in Germany and normally access BF from here, but from today - on the new site - I no longer have the possibility to bet on horseracing. The moron on the help desk is only able to tell me ´that is probably the reason´ but unable to explain why it is only now and why I had no problems for 14 years. There are ´certain restrictions´in some countries.
Anybody else having the same problems?

just back from crete cd not get on betfair or even forum as restricted in that country .. bet on paddy power as fine , how can u bet with one book maker and not another has to be a betfair issue imo !
I have the same probs with the books BM. I can bet with 365, Hills and PP (to pennies) but not Corals.
Maybe I have to check out using a proxy server (VPN?)...

ppowers a joke of a firm..........do well to get a score on with them unless u have a long losing account with them
tip i can put 2 to 3k on easy paddy , only been refused once but let me put 2 k on instead of 4
corals are the worst , hills are you can have 200 then rest at sp pi--sh , bet 365 are ok if your not betting heavy , some places on line betting i.e parts pf states etc ! what area are you based tiptheodds

same here tiptheodds...work and live in Germany..i always feared this day would come..and there she is...
am sure another user on here works in germany ? al e mail customer support if their is any betting restrictions , but to my knowledge germany is ok
nah, Germany is not ok BM. The German govt wanted betting tax from BF.

Though I fukking hate the new site anyway...but I don´t want to stop betting on what has been my passion for nearly 40 years.

one of your customers , lives in germany , he able to place bets , until the new site is up and running , i take it their is no betting restrictions in that country , cd you please help , as its very frustrating for him !
he can place bets with other bookmakers , so it would not be good business loosing valued custom , if you can ask your IT guys to look into this please !

Many of us have bookmarked direct links to the Old Site - However ...
Can you tell me what you get - or do NOT get - by just attempting the basic access - which I have just successfully done - admittedly from the UK.
I just typed www.betfair.com into the address bar.
This instantly brought up the Home Page - Defaulted to the Sportsbook
On the Orange Header Bar - Have you got EXCHANGE as an Option? -
- being the second item in from the left - after the (black) Highlighted Sportsbook
If so - and you then click on EXCHANGE - then that will/should take you to the NEW Site.
If you can then access the EXCHANGE - Does the BLACK HEADER Bar (along the top of a Market) then offer you > 'HORSE RACING'? - (as 5th Option in from the Left) - or is that NOT available where you are?

you can do all that onlooker but when you click on horse racing on the black bar you get message Error 404 page not found..and if i type the old site mit optout true etc. sends me direct to the new site...

Thank you - TiptheOdds and imyourdoc - That, sadly, confirms a geographical, and pointless political, issue for German residents, then.
Looks like we will have to look into proxy servers/VPNs?

Strange German government decision, though - As it looks as if you can still access, and presumably bet on, OTHER SPORTS - But not on Horse Racing.

I think it is to do with the websites onlooker. The newer sites - like the recently updated Tote and Coral sites, and now BF - seem to recognise the IP address as restricted. I thought I always got away with it because I am still listed as UK resident and all my cards are UK addressed.
