The Stewards held an enquiry into the use of the whip by Natalia Gemelova, the rider of the winner,
AFFECTIONATE LADY (IRE), from approximately three furlongs out. Having heard her evidence and
viewed recordings of the race, they found her in breach of Schedule (B)6 Part 2 in that she had used her
whip above the permitted level. The Stewards suspended Gemelova for 4 days as follows: Sunday 26,
Monday 27, Tuesday 28 and Wednesday 29 July 2015.

In reply to why did she hit the horse so many times, when you've only ridden 5 winners in as many seasons then you are probably likely to get a bit carried away the next time you sense a smell of victory in a race.
She was quite promising when she started out with Jack Berry
