All the best crosser.
____________________________________________________________________________ Cork Langer Felt given the posts that I have read for and against said forumite, that it would be worthwhile doing a bit of research into his selections to see what the actual position is, I wish to point out that I have no affiliation with crooser, just an interest as an outside observer. So what I did was revisit his threads from January 1st this year (2015) to 30th June (2015) to see what the p/l position was based on the advised price, the BSP and the returned Industry SP, the results are as follows Advised Price Win 83.50 Advised Price Place 25.48 BSP Win 147.64 BSP Place 28.45 Industry SP Win 62.38 Industry SP Place (0.27) All the above calculated using 1 point stake win, 1 point stake place. A few facts as they will no doubt be asked Total selections - 111 Non runners - 7 Winners - 11 Places - 30 Selections since last winner - 26 So make of it what you want but given the above facts, it would be nice if those who have been quick to criticise were man enough to step forward and apologise for their misguided slatings, they all know who they are, I won't of course hold my breath, as I very much enjoy living...! |

Mathematics no but quite simply if you regularly go that long in between wins then you aren't doing as well as you should be - you may still be 'up' but that's not the point. Maybe you can (mathematically) explain just how long a run is before it gets (regularly) bad please?
I've said before there are a number of factors that you need to look at when backing long odds - their likelihood to shorten, either pre race or ir, and reasons for the price being big in the first place. Some of Crosser's tips shorten but many don't and some drift so much they must be 'off'. I don't want to get in a 'He's not the messiah he's a very naughty boy' discussion as only 'crosser' knows how well he does - I'd be surprised if he only bets these horses he and his mates tip though! |

Mathematics no but quite simply if you regularly go that long in between wins then you aren't doing as well as you should be - you may still be 'up' but that's not the point That is the only point spyker! Betting the prices crooser bets, losing runs of 20/30 are quite normal. He only needs 4 or 5 winners if that every 100 bets to be ahead. Doesn't matter if they come in the first 4 bets or after a losing run of 80, as long as they come and he's ahead longterm. |

So how big a bank do you need to deal with this bad run then James
Another 20 losers and they funds are gone etc You need a massive bank to fund losing runs, who knows when the next will will come He also doesn't only tip 30/1 shots There has been plenty of 5/1 - 10/1 tips Use your brain numb skull |
|
By:
You forgetting the 33/1 winners and the 90+ winner he's had?
For the way he bets, you maybe need to be betting .5 each time depending on the price of each bet. You don't need a massive bank, you just need to use it wisely and bet to a structure with what you've got. I can try and explain it to you all day Bond but you'll never listen (or be a winner) as you clearly know best. |

JD - i bet these type of prices regularly and trust me 27 losers on the bounce should not be a regular occurrence. At least if you do then more than half (many more than half really) should be much shorter s.p than when you back them and I'm to be convinced that is the case with Crosser. It's just silly to say a 50's shot will pop up eventually so that's all right - there were decent reasons for backing Glass Office (I did) and the price was silly. I was put off a bit as there was no money for it at all - these things don't happen that often and I should have had more than the £20 i had on it but thar you go.
Fair enough, follow him if you wish - though he should ignore his mates as since they started, ahem, 'advising' him he doesn't seem to be doing very well! I find it more fun to find them myself and do ok at it (not a good day today though!) He isn't the messiah - he's a............. |

I don't see a problem with 27 losers in a row at these prices. It probably seems worse than it really is because Crooser might only post two bets some weeks, therefore it seems like his bad run goes on forever.
Spyker, if you're betting these prices then you are bound to have had longer losing runs. Could you be deluding yourself? Or do you keep records? |
|
By:
I don't follow him spyker. I'm just trying to explain value to Bond but I'd be as well giving up on that one.
It's not silly to say a 50/1 shot will just pop up, if he's betting value every time then they will pop up and he will end up in front. If you are betting the same prices as him and don't get runs of 27 losers then genuine hats off to you. Most people that bet 16's and above will have had runs on 30-40 losers on the bounce, probably more. Hugh Taylor iirc was on a run of 60+ last year yet still finishes ahead. It happens to the best of them. |

someone should of mentioned that BEACON is a slow coach, well known speed expert told me that last year. goodluck crooser your long overdue a turn in fortunes

Of course i have long losing runs but not of horses i think worthy of tipping on here - which is rare these days and usually I only put horses up that I'm pretty certain will shorten and are worth looking at with the future in mind. Crosser started well then these 'pals' stated to appear in his text and he's not done so well, allied to the fact that (as mentioned above) a fair number drift and obv aren't being 'backed by the owner' etc leads me to my view. Enough have run so badly that nobody that has been anywhere near that horse could tip it (unless as a lay) and i remember those as well as the odd winner.
If it was his opinion and they ran so badly then fair do's but he claims to have mates in stables all over the place. You can come to whatever conclusions you want to - the same info is there for you all! I'll leave you to it as I've said all i need to and I'm sure the saga will continue and I'm sure Crosser will tip a big price winner sometime soon and the ball can keep rolling............ |
