If it wasn't fit to run it should have been withdrawn. That really did stink to high heaven. They couldn't lay enough after only a furlong.

They were laying plenty before the off. KNEW it wasn't going to lead and probably that it had something wrong with it as well.

After a furlong you would be surprised if it won. If it can make running in big field handicaps why on earth hold it up in last place in small field when it is the only obvious pace in the race. Stays 12 furlongs and before race seemed to have an easy lead there for taking.

Gifted a very easy lead to a very heavily backed opponent that doesn't normally lead too.

I got caught in that trap, thought would make all or at least try. That drift was incredible. The BHB need to analyse that. Hughes did'n care or try, sooner that mug retires the better. That was too blatant.

It was an unbelievable move. 4 runner race at a track that strongly suits positive tactics with no other established front runner in opposition having drifted from 7-2 to 5s in a matter of minutes. If you can't even trust horses at listed level to be run straight what chance have you got.

I limit myself to Listed races and above for that very reason so it's a worrying development that even at that level you can't rely on clean racing. I backed the 3rd today so it didn't cost me as I was expecting a slow pace whatever, but after watching the market I wasn't surprised when Tha'ir went to the front.

As soon as Hughes pulled it back to last it drifted to 16. Very strange tactics to make sure you had virtually no chance of winning within first furlong.

It didn't cost me either as my main bet was a lay of the shortie. But I am still not happy about it at all. Bit differrent laying at 4-5 chance in a race with 4 runners than one that has been reduced by 3 by cheating.

I've no problem with changing tactics, that happens in all sports, the problem with racing is a select few know what the jockeys have no doubt agreed and are acting upon it to the disadvantage of those not privy to this
