Thanks for posting that - I didn't know he had passed away.
In my prime I used to go to Market Rasen a lot, where he had lots of runners as a trainer and seemed to always get a couple of big price sellers winners every year which probably kept the ship afloat.
I travelled through Wellingore many times after he stopped training, on my way to my inlaws, and often wondered where his place was and how he was.
Perhaps you can refresh my memory with some of the jockeys who rode for him. Was one called O'Shea?
It's funny how in life a name sticks in ones brain and sort of becomes attached. A bit like "supporting" Heart of Midlothian as a kid - just liked the name and their colours.
