Now before you all start.... I backed Montsarrat. I just wanted to comment on the finishing "effort" from the King of Royal Ascot. To finish 4th when third seemed simple enough to achieve, for the lauded best of British jockeys....well.... it is beyond me to find any excuse. His lack of drive in that finish cost the horse third place. There will be those who will say he has done right by the horse. That is not what racing is about. It is about achieving the best possible place. He didn't!
