Roger Charlton just said on ATR

(before the running of the 8:05 at Windsor) that his 2nd runner, Yulong Xiongba, probably needed a mile or at least 7 furlongs.

My question (a rhetorical one) is this: Why then was he running it at  6 furlongs?

As it turned out it was too slow and was last all, surprise,surprise.
