Report stu June 20, 2015 4:26 PM BST
Same jock has one win at this course on his record, so he can ride it. But why not try ffs??
Report EVILROYSLADE June 20, 2015 4:27 PM BST
Jury out IMO. Strip of ground may have been a bit quicker? Mugged by Frankie.
Report workrider June 20, 2015 4:27 PM BST
FFS lads this guy was winning HUGE racesover hefor Godolphin a few years ago, knows the course like the back of his hand...

Williams has ridden in this country lots of time when he was with cannon. did not do anything wrong. Beat the rest easy
Report DCI Barnaby June 20, 2015 4:28 PM BST

Report sparrow June 20, 2015 4:29 PM BST
Probably riding to orders and did little wrong.

Williams has ridden many times this country and had a great spell with Mick Channon.
Report the dealer June 20, 2015 4:31 PM BST
aye beaten half a length in a group one it was a right stinker of a ride Grin

Great kid turning up suffering from Bells. Top top kid!
Report Try My Best June 20, 2015 4:33 PM BST
Ward comes over as a top guy as well
Report stu June 20, 2015 4:33 PM BST
how can it be a 'good ride' when he made little effort?

Beggars belief.
Report EVILROYSLADE June 20, 2015 4:33 PM BST
Exactly TMB!
Report SecondComing June 20, 2015 4:34 PM BST
he wins the July Cup with any sort of a ride, best horse in that race by a considerable margin
Report acey deucy June 20, 2015 4:34 PM BST
Great ride, you are the clueless one buddy.
Report Try My Best June 20, 2015 4:34 PM BST
behave stu you are completely wrong
Report Outpost June 20, 2015 4:35 PM BST
walked the course to find best strip of ground

ran up that strip and just got caught on the line and he almost stole the race by being so far wide.

would probably have been easier for the american horse to catch him if he had been in the bunch with the rest.
Report stu June 20, 2015 4:37 PM BST
so, not bothering with the whip when needed is now a good ride. Ok.
Report Ibrahima Sonko June 20, 2015 4:37 PM BST
when i saw him walk the course he was nowhere near where the horse ran.
Report Try My Best June 20, 2015 4:37 PM BST
I know who to call if my kids get sick. Will be straight on the phone to Derek Smith.
Report EVILROYSLADE June 20, 2015 4:37 PM BST
Outpost.I think that is just about right.
Report stu June 20, 2015 4:41 PM BST
Guess they thought 2nd prize money was just about ok Plain
Report Jack Bauer '24' June 20, 2015 4:44 PM BST
He didn't almost steal the race, he was beaten on the best horse in the race because he isolated himself. Williams has just admitted on CH4 that he was disadvantaged having to race on his own.
Report aberdonia June 20, 2015 4:45 PM BST
agreed, would have won if there were other horses around him.

such is life.
Report stu June 20, 2015 4:49 PM BST
Did at least TWO things wrong in the race, but apparently on here some think a 'good ride' on the best horse that just got beat....Cry
Report winwinwin June 20, 2015 4:50 PM BST
qoute from R Hughes i wont come up the stand side its virgin ground your better off in the middle
Report EVILROYSLADE June 20, 2015 4:51 PM BST
I think the winner would have beaten it easier had they ran together! Dettori said he always had the Aussie in his sights.
Report aberdonia June 20, 2015 4:53 PM BST
He would say that, however it is all speculation and we will never know.

Hope there is a rematch.  If so the aussie horse will be getting backed.
Report EVILROYSLADE June 20, 2015 4:56 PM BST
True Aberdonia. Stiffer uphill at HQ would suit todays winner even better!
Report Angel Gabrial June 20, 2015 4:57 PM BST
Horses are pack animals they react and feed off the energy of the others.

How often do horses in the UK win being isolated?

Craig Williams over analysed the pace aspect of the race. Thinking can be dangerous for these Australians.
Report stu June 20, 2015 4:59 PM BST
Thinking was not apparent within any of that ride, neither was effort which is to me just as bad surely!
Report aberdonia June 20, 2015 5:00 PM BST
it was a group 1 race at royal ascot, of course he was trying.

if he had his time again, i am sure he would ride a different race.
Report Angel Gabrial June 20, 2015 5:02 PM BST
Paralysis by over analysis!
Report AdvantageAussie June 20, 2015 5:08 PM BST
All I know is BB has never been ridden like that before.

Certainly can't have helped the horse chances.

But on reflection, he's beat the Euro horses easily.

We just didn't count on how good the American was.  Crazy
Report Angel Gabrial June 20, 2015 5:17 PM BST
AA

Well that`s the risk you hold by isolating yourself from the pack, you give the horse nothing to react to.

If you thought that you had the Euro horses covered on ability then why attempt something `out of the box`.

If they ran the race again in 2 weeks i would lump on at 4/5 if CWilliams promised not to isolate the horse.
Best horse in the race.
Report AdvantageAussie June 20, 2015 5:23 PM BST
Agreed, as good as the Undrafted was, I would back BB in a rematch.

Undrafted had a cozy run in comparison. First half of race he did not spend a penny, having other horses to slipstream behind. Then when it was time to make his run, he had other horses around to chase and pass.

BB had no help and had to do it all himself, Williams admitted as much after the race saying that the horse lost focus/concentration a couple of times.
Report Outpost June 20, 2015 5:54 PM BST
as always on here when the favourite loses there are folk lining up to blame the jockey for their losses.
Report stu June 20, 2015 6:39 PM BST
