It's been a brilliant week watching some great horses and the greatest jockey we've seen for a very long time. One thing that has added to the enjoyment has been the proper good to firm ground we've had. Years ago this was what was raced on most of the time but recently we've become used to clerks overwatering, golden highways, and generally inconsistent ground. I think Stickels has done a great job in helping to make it a wonderful festival for the fastest horses around.

It has certainly been good to watch horses run on ground that is sound and not false

I am sorry for any horses being injured but of the hundreds of horses that have run this week there is always that likelihood of that happening.

And as a result there has barely been a winner bigger than 12 to 1. Let's see if we get the same at glorious goodwood.
Report dod June 20, 2015 11:19 AM BST
Doubt if that will happen the COTC likes to start on easy side of good at goodwood
Report TheDoc June 20, 2015 11:29 AM BST
Exactly. It's one of the most over watered courses in the country. He'll probably be watering on good to soft ground.

Am I the only infantile on here who finds the name Chris Stickles quite amusing? It sounds like some kind of finger food to me.

Have all of the bookies done their brains? Some were saying this morning that Moore did them some favours by winning on War Artist and others at double figure prices but as WA shortened from 20 to 10, some of them must have taken a hit. Moore did have 4 shortish priced losers yesterday and no doubt his rides will be kept at well below the true market prices today.
